It's a savage website and it's been like that for years - most professional like setup in this neck of the woods by a country mile - still though - their Junior team is not the best

    Definition of success

Salthill Devon's Junior A side play Newtown in the last 32 of the Irish Cup this w/e - they lie joint second ( a point of the top of the league). They are in the last 16 of the Connacht Cup, and also still in the Michael Byrne.
Their U21 side recently won the Eircom U21 league - defeating Cork City in the final. All of the squad (bar coach Mike Quirke) are from Salthill & have played for the club from schoolboy up.
Their U18 side lost in the semi final of the Irish Cup last year - and the club are regular winners of u'age titles - they had three schoolboy and six schoolgirl international, as well as a senior international, and an U19 international.
As well as supplying several of the current Galway Utd squad, they have two coaches who have finished their UEFA A badges, and regularly field 27 sides.
ASAIK, they are now concentrating on football, now that the development is fairly advanced.
Watch this space... if you don't think they're any good yet, they're in danger of getting better.

i must say that is very impressive and as for the set up WOW. by the looks of it they should have no problem against newtown in the fai junior cup this weekend there a poor team ye should win with goals to spare. that would set up a cracker CAREW PARK V SALTHILL DEVON that will be a massive test for ye against carew at home i could be wrong i dont think anyone would like to draw carew in the fai at home. there a very difficult team to beat on there day

Its all down to money. The club have a magnificent committee with huge fundraising efforts constantly being made. They have really proved that corporate sponsorship is the way to go. Whilst very successful at a certain level they will really only get the full recognition when they start winning full adult national competitions. Well done lads - truly immense achievement.

Hey John Thomas, care to elaborate, what do you know about Newtown F.C, i would guess you have seen Newtown FC once this year and you have never seen Newtown A play, whoever wins Sunday wish them all the best and deffo hope they win their next match.Salthill will be made very welcome in Shannon and they will also feel safe..

If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later
