just wondering how often most junior clubs train. and what kind of numbers they get at session. would i be right in saying most division 1 junior teams train once a week and most prem teams 2 times a week. would any top junior teams train more than this i.e pike clonmel?? . how do clubs deal with players away at college or with work do they still get there start on a sunday even if they dont train.
I'am very surprised at the lack of response's,as i think it a very good topic..
Train twice a week once in the muck and poo and the second on the astro turf. hard running and all that is done on our training grand doing various types of sets mainly done with the ball. which makes it a bit of fun but also knowning you put in the work. i hear balla have signed a new trainer called jaffa. whats he like.
We would train twice a week on a poor muddy surface, playing on this surface is not the worst thing though you are always going to meet muddy pitches at this time of year, hoping to get anastro-turf surface soon
Training would consist of 20-25 mins trotting and sprinting, then dribbling in and out of cones, passing drills and then a bit of a game towards the end, to be honest I wish the trainings were changed around a bit but it seems to be the same kind of drills and running every session, I as a player have suggested new drills that have worked very well lately, as regards numbers around 10 on a good night, as some are away with work commitments, college etc by the way does anyone have any good websites for training drills?
id say its similar with all junior teams, 2 nights during the week, maybe sunday with no match on.
we train tuesdays and thurdays on the astroturf and then physical after/before hand on the training pitches in the muck..
[QUOTE=papa-j;611155]false advertising, misrepresentation and blatant misuse of the word cake.
By size, packaging and public perception a jaffa is in fact ah, a biscuit.[/QUOTE
You can dress your argument up anyway you want they are cakes.
At least where I come from they are cakes.
Are you packing in the football this year before you do yourself an injury![]()

I would say most junior clubs would train twice a week during the season for about an hour and half each session. pre season would take in sundays with either training or friendlys
Some on the other hand may train on Friday to accomdate players that are away during the week.
dont know if this sounds a bit over the top but we have 4 open training sessions a week, mondays 7 2 9 tuesdays 6:30 2 8,wed 7 2 9 and thur 6:30 2 8,w e do this because most teams like ourselves have a lot of guys on shift work and they might not be able to make 2 normal sessions so by havin 4 different nights everyone can make at least 2 sessions ,the A team and B team managers and there 2 coaches split the nights between them depending on how important the games are over the weekend,we have an all weather trainin surface thats fully lit so we train no matter what,no showers though, more the pity and trainin usually consists of 45 mins runnin and 15 mins 3 touch and then 10 mins all in,ball work is done on the wed or thur nights usually mon and tue are for gettin the aches and pains from the weekend out of ya ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,give a few mins either way for those people out there who are added things up
