athlone can win this game if they go in fighting, keep the heads on in and play good balls. I can see them winning 2-1, some bad news, the singing supporters wont be there , but we will be down on friday for the game agents sligo.

    Good luck

    Cobh

They were the best organised sides I've seen this year, but if we plan this well and keep our shape, seriously concentrate and keep discipline we can win it.

It will however need a seasons best so far.

    Cobh Ramblers 3 - 1 Athlone Town

    www.eleven-a-side.com

Cobh Ramblers moved back into contention for a play-off spot in Division One with victory over Athlone Town on Saturday night while Sligo Rovers and Limerick played out a scoreless draw at the Showgrounds.

Dave Hill’s side now have 26 points, level with Kildare County and Galway United. Waterford look out of reach at the top of the table but the play-off position is an intriguing battle between Finn Harps, Cobh, Kildare and Galway.

Cobh had to come from behind to beat Athlone after the visitors struck in the 26th minute. Former Millwall player Michael Collins scored for the visitors and the midfielder looked to have given his side a huge psychological edge after Jason Kabia had missed a sixth minute penalty for Cobh.

Cobh were level after 45 minutes though when Hill equalised and they dominated proceedings from there on, going ahead through Willie Boland in the 63rd minute. Athlone had Conor Frawley sent off two minutes later and Andy Brady made sure of the points with Cobh’s third in the 75th minute.

    Teams:
Cobh Ramblers: Slattery, O'Donovan, Hill, Noonan, White, Kabia, Clifford, Brady, Yelverton, McGregor, Bruton.
Subs: Hastings for O'Donovan (58 mins), Coker for McGregor (78 mins).

Athlone Town: Moran, Oliver, Hope, Frawley, Carberry, Molloy, Harney, Collins, Kenny, Mullan, Parkes.
Subs: Clarke and Rush for Hope and Harney (84 mins).

    Referee: P Sutton (Dublin).
