Think it was the bould Spock from Star Trek was a martyr to the oul concept of human emotions thing as well.

That "Death Grip" did have its benefits though.

Irish music stations: I'd say Spin103.8 and FM104.

But by far the best radio station is the one and only BBC Radio FiveLive. The best sports coverage I've ever come across.

Gift Grub is the least funny thing I've ever had the misfortune to have been unable to avoid listening to. Ray Darcy is a talentless twát. Daytime radio makes me want to smash things.
The Last Word and Pet Sounds I do like.
And cheers for that heads up, Ken, all my favourites in one place!

Is Phil Cawley still on Today FM. Hated him. And dont get me started on Tubridy and Ryan. Ah no, I liked the Ray D'Arcy show. rescued many a morning in a boring Dublin office i used to work in. Only ever listened to Dempsey for Gift Grub. Strawberry Alarm Clock on FM104, had its moments. Agree with you about Five Live. definitely a class act.

Phil Cawley's a fuppin tool. Today FM was ruined for me when they got that plank Martin King on Saturdays.

I don't own nor have i ever even listened to a Snow Patrol album, the only time i hear Snow Patrol is when they're on the radio. I'm more a Thin Lizzy fan myself and i'm not one who can be accused of being a musical snob, which is obviously what you are.

Newstalk...fantastic radio station 'Off the Ball' is just pure quality, along with all the other current affairs programmes,,,with the risk of sounding like a snob I hate trashy radio like FM104, 2FM, todayfm isnt quite as bad as the other two ..

NEWSTALK 106... Off The Ball better Sports coverage than most bat BBC Radio 5 Live ; George Hook on the Right Hook; and the pure luscious larynx that is Claire Byrne in the morning. And yes I know she's a babe used to see her on TV 3 but heard her on East Coast Radio before I ever saw her ....

Off The Ball on Newstalk is the best sports programme. Sportscall is crap.

Spin is the best for music.

The point about gobsh!te presenters is well made. I expect a DJ playing music to tell me something I don't know about the band, especially new bands who maybe haven't hit my radar yet. Nowadays you're lucky if they even tell you the name of the song.

    Wastes valuble advert time.
When I did my Postgrad diploma in Journalism out at Griffith College I co-presented a Jazz/Funk/Soul programme and we researched it meticulously. Particularly the Jazz side of things. We were able to tell (the few) listeners what the band had for breakfast the morning of the studio session the track was recorded in. Well not quite but you get the idea.

Sounds like my kind of radio. Part of the gig is educating the listener in music they are not familiar with. It can still be done in a link not exceeding 40 seconds.

Saves paying money on song royalties. Also saves me from listening to the $hite music that will invariably follow.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
