Maxi - Irelands first football terrorist!![]()
It's a sad indictment of our society when a man can walk free from court to the approbation of his peers for shooting another human being in the back, but protesting against a tinpot dictator incurs a custodial sentence.
A leading authority on League of Ireland football since 2003. You're probably wrong.
You could also argue that a nutter who might have burned a number of innocent people alive over an unsporting decision is far more dangerous than someone who went too far in defending his home from an odious scumbag with a number of outstanding warrants for his arrest. Mostly, it's about putting bias on the situation with the words you use.
You can't spell failure without FAI
You could, but why would you (except to expose yourself as an imbecile?)
Maybe he did, but four months is excessive.Originally Posted by John83

He was a disgrace to himself, to Dundalk FC, the town of Dundalk, Co Louth and the LOI as a whole. Hope he rots, got what he deserved.

Maxi is going to be on Newstalk after the 10 o clock news.

jaysus....there is a maxi junior on the way!!!
Bit of a tearjerker. highlights were "I didnt lose the head" and "I wasnt agressive". He also said he has sent flowers to the girl in recepion in the FAI and he had removed the flint in his lighter prior to the incident.
He had to raise €1203 for damages from friends and family. he has to decide whether to appeal or not if he appeals and loses he could face 12 months instead of 4 and his girlfriend is expecting a child.
I'm begining to feel a bit sorry for him, the sentence does seem a bit severe but his protest was way over the top and potentially very dangerous.

And his constantly blaming the FAI when it was the clubs who insisted on the "play off" which all clubs knew about. When will Dundalk hold their hands up and admit they were at least partially to blame for the situation arising in the first place?
What I find strange is that this man has been welcomed back to Oriel Park since the incident.
See http://orielweb.com/dundalktalk/view...t=4183&start=0
I wonder will DFC continue to employ him as a steward?

Amazing![]()
He got a "hero's welcome"in the club bar and he "didnt have to buy a drink all night". I thought he would have been banned from the ground for the season at least.Which would have been enough punishment. I felt a bit sorry for him but now i take it all back. Somebody has to teach him that football terrorism shouldn't be rewarded!

I see on Oriel Web that Dundalk FC are holding a fundraising night for Maxi in the Lilywhite Lounge, this Friday, June 26th.
What a Joke that is! I wonder is Dermot Ahern going to attend?
So- Dundalk did not bar this man from Oriel and are now hosting a fundraiser for him.
This sends out the message that DFC implicitly condone the actions of this sad lunatic. A dark day for Dundalk FC.
