Conor O Grady set for Longford Town? Jan 11, 12:56 pm
In local soccer news, there is strong speculation today that former Sligo Rovers midfielder Conor O Grady is on the verge of signing for near neighbours Longford Town. O Grady was one of a number of players released by new manager Rob McDonald when Sligo Rovers embarked on a “full time professionals” only policy for the 2007 season.
Meanwhile Longford Town manager Alan Matthews has emerged as one of the favourites for the vacant managerial position at Shelbourne.
That would be a major kick in the balls for rovers fans if that happened!! cant blame the man in all fairness though if he did join them! best of luck to him.
Stan "were always good in march"
hearrd tonight that we are on the verges on signing JIM CRAWFORD JAMES CHAMBERS AND CONOR O GRADY PLUS THREE PLAYERS FROM THE SHELS RESERVE PANEL
if thats the case this is a major relief!
eh sligoman:
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Its a done deal with longford!Conor told me himself.
s**t!
if its trye its a major kick in the teeth for the club
I dont think its that a big of a blow , no one player can be bigger than the club and he was offered a good deal which he didnt accept , only time can judge if robs strategy was a wise one but these things happen in life and of course he will be missed as a player, I would have argued keeping Turner would have been more important but seeing as Conor is a local player that would be a controversial statement.
Anyone here we are getting Rogers and O'Halloran from Shels!!!!!!!!!!
I heard yesterday through Conor's brother that it's not a done deal with Longford
"he tries his best.... but I was a proper player".
why dont the club just sign him!
i doubt rob mcd had much say in the raf transfer! he'd never seen him play!
conor he has seen, HE (CONOR) IS PROVEN AT PREMIER LEVEL. RAF ISN'T.. although i know that raf will be competeant but still.. conor would be more of an asset to sligo rovers in 2007 than raf, whether he plays part time or full time is irrelevent, conor will give 387% anyways
Dont Longford train in Dublin, will Conor travel to Dublin to train???
Whats that comin' over the hill
It's the Monster,
The Cookie Monster!
just like monaghan? thats a bit stupid IMO!
