    Red face Deccie this season

    League games:

    Pats (A) 1-4 - did he play?
    Longford (A) 2-3 - did he play?
    Shel$ (A) 1-2 - think he played that one?

    Derry (A) 0-0 - played.
    Drogs (H) 1-0 - played
    Bray (A) 2-3 - subbed at 1-1 HT
    Bohs (H) 1-1 - played
    Pats (H) 2-0 - played
    Rovers (A) 1-4 - subbed at 2-0 during 1st half.
    UCD (A) 0-1 - played.

Maybe someone else can make sense of that?

btw relying on (a great servant of city in his time) a 37 centre back as first choice is not funny joke. Kinda means can't use the developing for the future excuse i suppose?

says it all really. Deccie, you´ve been great, you´re a legend, but do yourself a favour and follow Murphy out the door

He came on as a sub for about 20 mins away to pats.
Can't remember if he played in Longford or not.
He started that game away to $hel$ and hasn't missed a game since.

He played the Longford game but I think it was the Pats game he looked really past it. Deccie has been superb for the club and played long ball when that was our from but with the talent we have we should be taking it down more and asking Dan Murray and co at the back to start knocking it about. Deccie's distribution has been poor at best. Time for the MSL Dec but hang your boots high for your loyal service.

deccie last really good campaign for the club IMO was in 1998 -1999. it's been a gradual decline since then the performaces against shams was embarrassing. i guess when you are picked you can only do your best so the brickbats go to murphy on this one

however even declan knows his time is well up. i presume he will go into managment but at the moment the alternatives in the backs aren't great. whatever happened to john andrews?

btw I any chance daniel murphy will stay on full time?

Is there any news that Murray wants to stay on?

Any info anyone? He looks like he'ld get the odd goal as well, which is good.

I would suspect that there are few options open to Murray cross channel, given the financial state of the game there, so if he is offered a decent wage and is involved in a good setup, I think he would stay.

The rovers game at Inchicore really showed up Deccie big time. IMO both goals conceded before he was subbed were pretty much his fault alone.

The biggest joke was Deccies commenst a few months back about possibly staying on for next season.

Murray is still only 19 & probably best u-21 central defender in the league already. His distribution is very good as has the confidence to control the ball under pressure & likes to get forward given the opportunity. We would be in real trouble this season without John O'Flynn recommending him.

Someone over the Derrynane shouted at Deccie a few weeks back to do himself a favour and quit while he is ahead. Deccie looked over at him, smiles and blew him a kiss!!!! So I reckon he aint going nowhere.

As for Murray, I reckon we will hold onto him IF we qualify for Europe, and if a certain unwanted person leaves.

deccie is an educated guy why the f*ck is he hanging around when he himself knows he isnt playing well ,the supporters know he isnt playing well and not sure what liam murphy thinks as is the usual but is he hanging around for a reason would he be a cheap solution for brian lennox if murphy gets the chop

    deccie

I have to agree with all the comments.

Deccie is one of City's all time greats but even last season he was past it. Its terrible to hear him getting abuse from the crowd but he must know its time to call it a day.

PS What has happened to John Andrews?

    John Andrews:

When asked by a young fella a few weeks back as to why he wasnt playing (he was in his suit), he was heard to reply

    because im sh*t!!

At least he can poke fun at himself. Puity he hasnt been given a proper try out yet though.

my favourite memory of deccie is a hurling one. coming on as sub for na piarsaigh in 1990 against UCC and turning the game. he also played a huge part in winning piarasaigh's first county against the barr's.

(i know it has nothing to do with anything but I couldn't help it )

I reckon you´re right there, but with Murphy hanging around I wouldn´t bank on it.
