Personally I think he'd suit Man Yoo more than anyone. I'd love to know if Chelsea were sniffing around him, it would have been stupid of him to go there.

I think more Irish players should look to playing in continental europe, we'd benefit more from it with the contrast in styles. Having every player based in England and Scotland means most end up playing the same way and teams coming to play us approach us as if we were a British team.

Having said all that there still should be more LOI players involved in the Irish set up....

Doyle hasn't been great this season and I would say if he was to move, it would be Aston Villa or Everton type clubs he would be wanted by, not Chelsea or Manchester United.

He won't be going to Chelsea after Anelka joining.

I doubt he'd get much time at Man U, if he joined. Tevez and Rooney are the two first choice strikers, there's no way he'll oust either of them. Even getting ahead of Louis Saha would be difficult.

At his age, he needs to be playing week in, week out. I'd go with Villa. They only have one real out and out striker in Carew. Luke Moore isn't up to the Premiership from what I've seen of him.

Everton have Yakubu, Johnson and two promising young lads in Anichebe and Vaughan and they tend to go 4-5-1 anyway.

Why? Some of the better players in the EL have moved to England/Scotland recently. Flynn, Bennett, O'Callaghan, Murphy to name a few and have failed to succeed. If there not good enough for club football in a good/average league what use are they going to be at international level?

Too many Irish players are going for the safe option ie John O'Shea - happy to **** away his career on Man U bench, Shay Given and Damien Duff happy to play with a crap club.

Reading are never going to be better than they are now, if Doyle wants to better himself he should move.

He gets to play with Reading. Thats the main thing. And look at Hunt and the way he is playing now. Playing with a tin pot club isn't doing him any harm at the moment.

Doyle is a good player but he's not great and some people in here tend to over rate him. He is not top four quality, not by a long shot. He probably wouldn't make the Everton or Villa first teams either at this stage. He should contine on playing and scoring for Reading and then next season when/if he has fully established himself as a premiership striker, he should move.

I don't care what clubs these players play for as long as they play regularly. Duff played his best football not at the big club Chelsea but at Blackburn.

However I fully agree with you regarding O Shea.

have to agree with LiveHead on this one to be honest. Much as i love our league, the players that were being bemoaned as a mass exodus of talent at the time have, all-in-all, failed spectacularly.

That said, i think that the acceptance and strengthening of the domestic league is the only hope for the future, long-term success of the national team. But few people can see that on this messageboard.
