Scored Colorado's first, made a decisive pass in the build-up to their second and had an assist on the third: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdBP1-bnpbI - brings his tally for the season to four goals and four assists. While he seems to have slipped behind a couple of others in the pecking order, perhaps he should be given more consideration for the upcoming double-header, as he will be at the height of his season, while our other forwards will be only have a couple of games under their belt (and in the case of Daryl Murphy, is not likely to be playing at all)
Had the chance to see Doyler live for the first time as Colorado came to Toronto - didn't figure much as Toronto FC scored early and controlled the game without putting the Rapids away, only to concede fifteen minutes from the end. Doyle's only really telling contribution came a few minutes before then when he rose high to put a header from a free-kick on target and force a point-blank save from our keeper, Clint Irwin. Apart from that, he just had one looping header from the edge of the box that didn't trouble Irwin and a snatched shot on the run that went well high and wide.
Going to see Colorado play San Jose on Saturday, hope he plays.
I'm in Colorado the following week, unfortunately the Rockies are away that weekend

Game over for Doyle. Excellent career, shame to see it cut short. Felt this deserved a post in the Doyle thread as opposed to the Moldova game.

Thanks Kevin , for all you did playing for Ireland .
I hope everything works out for you . Best of Luck .

Sad but sensible end to a career. One of those players I've always admired, on and off the field.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

Always loved Doyler, wish him all the best in his retirement
Had lots of talent and the heart and determination to match. The bit at the end of his statement about fulfilling a childhood dream is touching. Enjoy your well deserved retirement, Doyler.
Thanks for some great goals Doyler.
He was playing a stormer in a warm up for Euros (Holland?) when he got a bad injury which kind of ended his hopes of being on the plane to France.
His goal V Slovakia was a screamer.
Class act. Had a better career than he expected which is a testament to his humility but also his ability. I hope he goes onto coach as his personality and work ethic, combined with his obvious technique and willingness, demonstrate his potential in that field.
And beside all of the above, he seems to be an utter gentleman. Not much better a compliment, as if he had nothing else going for him.
