On the way into the stadium, an elderly San Marino Steward waved us in and said "Tonight, may the best team win"
And they nearly did.
Scott Sinclair is only 18???
He's one for the future, hence why he's not playing all the time.
If Doyle's moving he should go up the league, not down. Sunderland and Boro are both struggling this year and if he went he could end up back in the Championship very quickly.
He can do better than Reading, Boro or Sunderland. Don't think he'd get much of a chance at Everton with Yakubu and Johnson. Maybe Newcastle.

I reckon aston villa or spurs(only if berbatov leaves btw) would be very good moves. Surely doyle has more cop on and is more level headed to move to chelsea

Sell him!
would be pleasantly though cautiously surprised ...especially as, again if you can believe the papers, Avram Grant is also after Nicholas Anelka.
If he IS after Anelka he'll surely get him.

Doyle should keep clear of Chelski - he needs a club that would nurture his talent and not expect instant returns. If he couldn't deliver he'd be dropped like a stone. Sidwell is rotting away (despite a start today) and we need Doyle to be playing week in week out.

You'll NEVER beat the Irish.......you'll just draw with us instead!!!
He might end up warming the bench there, as Keane currently is at Spurs v Villa right now.
Id say Keane is just dropped tbh. I was at the Spurs v Reading game at the weekend and he had a very poor game, Defoe came on and did very well, simple as that id say.
Apparently Chelsea are also interested in Berbatov for £25 million+, flattering that Chelsea are interested, but he might only get a game if there is a flu outbreak at Chelsea
Having said that he is a different type of player, I can't recall Berbatov ever scoring a goal with his head, Drogba too although no doubt they have, can't recall Chavchenko scoring many goals full stop.
Actuall Doyle and Drogba are both on 5 and Chavchenko is on 4 so who knows?
Trouble is Chelsea can afford to have good players languishing in the reserves which is probably not what Doyle nor Ireland want.
I would like to see Doyle at Chelsea. He is a very good striker but he would definitely be frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities. He'd probably get a look in over the next few weeks with Drogba and Kalou in Ghana but if he didn't impress then, he'll be on the bench soon enough.
For the record, Drogba and Shevchenko have both scored with their head this season.Originally Posted by tricky_colour
Kalou also has 5 this year. He is another player that would be ahead of Doyle in my eyes. Chelsea are a top team and they need a striker who'll score goals consistently. Drogba can do it, Kalou can come off the bench and score. If Doyle didn't start scoring immediately, he'd left out of the team. If he's a money player, he can go to Chelsea but if he's in it with the heart he should go somewhere where he'll be one of the top strikers and he'll be let get on with the job.Originally Posted by tricky_colour

Not sure about whether there is any substance behind this story but Doyle is the type of player who could really thrive at a top club.
We need as many players as possible playing for Champions League teams. Any Irish player with self-confidence and ambition should jump at the chance of moving to Chelsea.
Together with all our hearts.
Of course he should move to a better team if the opportunity presents itself but I don't think that Chelsea will be in for him.
Would thrive on the amount of chances they create as he is a great finisher but hasn't got the pace to make it as a top player. Not at one of the big four anyway. He hasn't got enough all round to compensate for his lack of pace.
