We're hearing reports that Middlesbrough have made an enquiry to sign Wolves striker Kevin Doyle on loan. Republic of Ireland international Doyle has scored three goals in 22 appearances in League One for Wolves this season.

Doyle is in advanced talks with Middlesbrough, according to Sky Sports.

Good enough I suppose. I think he's a still a good player and could still cut it a top end of Championship and lower EPL.

I still stand by my opinion that he's better than Bendtner.

Anyone who saw Bendtner against Coventry would probably agree.

There are loads of players playing at PL level who have similar goalscoring records to Doyle; Maiga, Graham, Jones, Jerome, Odemwingie... Do they contribute as much in overall play? I don't think so.

It's really disappointing how he is faring in League One but he is playing on the flanks more than as an out and out striker, like Griffiths.

The links with Middlesbrough, Leeds and Reading show how much he is still valued. His record last season (1 in 4) wasn't that disastrous.

I think he and Long look better as a pairing than either of them has with Keane. Admittedly I'm including seeing them against Oman as part of my opinion.

Wolves rejected an approach from Ipswich for Doyle yesterday, whilst Leeds, Reading and Middlesbrough have also been linked with making a move for him: http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-29963390.html
