Rumoured to be the subject of a 10 million pound bid from Arsenal:

Source is obviously not the most reliable, but I believe the same paper broke the news that Liverpool were after Keane?
Not sure what to make of that to be honest. The quotes from Wenger are almost certainly out of context (i.e. probably from a pre-match interview when Arsenal were playing Wolves). I'd love to see him step up to someone like Arsenal or Villa (they're mentioned in the article as possible admirers too), not sure how likely it is that these teams are really after him. Arsenal really need goals and Doyle, despite all of his positive attributes, isn't going to get that many.
He would suit Villa more I think if he replaced Heskey. He contributes to the overall game plan in the same way as Heskey, but has a few more goals in him than Heskey does.
Hes better than Bentner so I definately think he could do well there. I wouldnt worry too much about his lack of goals this season, most of that has been down to the system that Wolves play and by all accounts Doyle has been fantastic for them in general this season
Its really not that complicated!!!
Would combine very well with RVP imo, would be a good move but have my doubts about its validity.
Arsenal fans seem to be unimpressed haha
Then again, one of the message board topics I read also mentioned bringing in Toulalan as "cover" for Alex Song so they may not be the most reliable judges of players.
A Wolves fan in said in The Observer that Doyle has been their best player this year by an absolute distance. He's not the glamour signing many Arsenal fans want, but if they want someone prepared to stand up and be counted in the tricky away trips - a noticeable waekness in the current team - they'd get their money's worth.
Doyle does what Bendtner does a lot better than Bendtner. You could argue that Bendtner is maybe better value because he has more time on his side but I know who I'd prefer (as an Arsenal fan who has seen both players many times).
How many games a season does Robin Van Persie actually play. He is injured a lot over the years in my opinion and does not play enough games year in year out to be building a team around.
Doyle is good at what he does but in all honesty could do with a few more goals. Perhaps he could get them playing for one of the big four. We will only find out if he gets a move to one of the big four(is that 5/6 this year)
I rate Doyle as far and away our best current player. He'd do very well at Arsenal and ten million isn't a stretch given his age and the fact that Wolves signed him for six million plus just a year ago.
I think Wenger has accepted that vP tends to miss a lot of games, so Doyle could be a great signing. Think about it: if you're an Arsenal fan and you've got a tricky away game and one fit striker - would you prefer Bendtner up top on his own, or Doyle?
I think Arsenal have tied up the signing of Chamack from Bordeaux on a free transfer so it would make u doubt the truth of this story, but as Ive said already I do think Doyle is good enough. The Arsenal fans who are commenting on the story in the paper are saying similar things that the Fulham and Villa fans were saying about the signings of Duff and Dunne when they were announced
Its really not that complicated!!!
you know Doyle to fulham could be a good bet? chances are some bigger team will take a punt on bobby now if he scores the winner in the europa league final you never know where some of that team could end up?
I would love to see him at arsenal i think it would really bring him on as a footballer but even with my green tinted glasses i can't see it happening..
I didn't really see Robbie signing for Liverpool, either, but it happened. I think Doyle is good enough, but I don't know whether Arsene's valuation will match Wolves's. I have a hint of a feeling the value Mick places on him might be more than he's actually worth, just because he's such an important player for them.
Well, someone like Doyle could be the difference between the Premier League and the Championship for a team like Wolves. If they sold him and didn't find an adequate replacement, it could cost them the £20 million plus that teams earn from being in the Premier League.
Finished off the season with another goal today. Pity he didn't get 10 for the season but 9 out of Wolves' 32 is not bad at all!! Will he stay or is there a bigger club waiting to snap him up???
Really Really hope a bigger club comes in for him, he's too good to be playing with Wolves
"but if Manchester United, Manchester City or Liverpool come hunting him, I'd have a real problem."
Not sure if they would come hunting for him, especially Man U, but you never know.

the story about him in Italy is interesting. would love to see him try make a go of it there rather than a struggling premiership team
Its really not that complicated!!!
The one thing bendtner has over doyle is fluidity, arsenal play counter attacking quick football. Doyle is used to hold up the ball a lot more, would he be able to play the way arsenal would want in a lone striker role where he would have to take the ball on at pace and distribute it quickly rather than holding it up for another player to come along? Id also rate bendtner slightly more agile, a good example would be the away goal against barcelona.
I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
I'm glad that some big clubs are showing an interest in Doyle; and I think they should really. This season I watched countless Wolves games where Doyle was so amazing. His strength and ability to hold up the ball, his touch, his all round effort is also spectacular when compared to someone like Berbatov. I was listeneing to Football Weekly last week and Sid Lowe was saying that Ibra has been mostly poor for Barca because the service to him has been poor and because Barca don't play to his strengths by putting enough quality balls into the box. I had to laugh when I thought of the miracles that I seen Doyle produce out of the most meagre service. He is often completely abandoned up front; what is amazing is that from this dreadful position he often physically holds off some of the league's top defenders and produces great little touches back to teammates and such. Great player, as someone said above I would consider him our best senior player now. I'm really glad he has done well at Wolves but does he really need to stay there? He has already proved himself at that level with Reading before. He seems confident enough to make the step up and certainly has the ability. I'd love to see him with a top club, g'wan Doyler.
