Everton are very interested, so there will be a bidding war. Not sure which would be best as he'd be guaranteed his place at Everton but not so at Villa.

Doyler is good enough for most teams in the Premiership, hes better than anyone at Villa and I rate them hightly. I just think he is top class

He's a better version of Bendtner, a much better version. Imagine doyle with arsenal? MABY the level would be a step too high but he'd be animal there

I am also a big admirer of Doyle and hope he gets a well deserved return to the premiership, but I do think some on here are overstating his ability.

nah he does have his limitations, for example he's not the most unpredictable or innovative of players but what he is good at is bringing people into play, running the channels, drawing fouls, scoring goals(something the much lauded heskey cant even do on form) and works hard for the team.

He is our version of Roman Pavlyuchenko.

irishultra - I agree with much of what you say. I just think that people saying he should play for Villa, being better than anyone there, or even perhaps at Arsenal is pushing it a bit.

    oh ye when i say
    doyle at arsenal
thats coming from an irish perspective, i'm sure arsenal could attract a much higher calibre(no disrespect to doyle) to their club but still I do think if Doyle was playing for arsenal he would be a revelation and bang in many goals. Would Wenger buy him? Definetly not. I could have seen Ferguson taking a punt on him if he was short of strikers, but needless to say they are full in that department.

As a matter of interest, how many goals did he score in his season in the Premiership? 6 in 36 appearances I think so let's not get carried away.

Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

in fairness last season he was in a team that was playing poorly and he was pushed out to the wing alot. Im judging him on his Ireland performances. He holds the ball up so well and for a lad that isnt particularly tall he is rarely beaten in the air. I just think he needs to move to a club that will make himself push on to be an even better player.

I think Agbonlahor is probably a better overall player than Doyle.

    How?

He's not that good but what he does have is one world class attribute; pace. Doyle doesnt have any stand out features but his all round game is better IMO.

Carew is probably better than Doyle at this time but Doyle is younger and could develop at the right club.

Agbonlahor is a better goalscorer as well.

Reading won't see Doyle unless he wants to leave. Unless it is a massive bid they won't sell in January as their chances of promotion will evaporate without him. If they get promoted he will stay, if they don't get promoted he will be sold in the summer.

He had 2 seasons in the premiership. 13 goals in his first.

Newcastle are about to bid 10 mil for Doyler according to Radio 5. I would not be surprised to see Newcastle bid for Stephen Hunt as well.

Well it would be a bit funny if they moved and Reading were promoted and Newcastle were relegated

Cork City would be sick. That would of got them stg£1,000,000 rather than the €200,000 that they took.

They didn't have a choice at the time because they needed the money urgently.

Hope Doyle stays away from Newcastle, although he would probably be a first team regular which won't be the case at the other clubs he has been linked with.
