It seems to me that you are making excuses for their comments Anto because you agree with them. You're own views are your own views but most people will tell you that in todays world, comments like that are unacceptable.
I'm the first to admit that there doesn't seem to have been any blatent racism but there has been lots of innuendo and undertones aiming in the same direction.
Everybody knows what they mean by "I wish she would fcuk off home" and "you never know where their fingers have been".
The proof of the pudding was Dani's reaction when BB asked her why she said what she said. The slow realisation that a nation had seen what was a racist comment and the fact that they were bullying the girl was painted all over her face and it was a picture.

im not excusing there comment , yes they are nasty things to say im saying its not racist , and if it is racist then Shilpa is just as racist as the other girls because she has said the same things plus a lot worse about the White girls but no one cares about that .

Wrong !! Racism does not differ. To say it does makes you the ignoramus and the simpleton.Racism is racism no matter where it goes in the world, and no one form of racism is worse than any other. I would have thought that you were aware of that, seeing as you are pontificating about it so much.
The basic point I think Anto is trying to get across here is that nobody is deriving racism from Shilpa's comments about England and English people. Like it or not, if you classify as racism what the gang are saying to Shilpa, then you must classify Shilpa's comments towards the English as racist also. There's no two ways about it.

1.Islam isnt a race its a religion
2. the KKK dont just limit there hate to the colour of your skin they hate all people different from them its not just based on race , they hate blacks, jews, gays etc etc .

That comes down to interpretation surely. If you call me me a white b****rd I won't take offence but if you call someone a black b****rd they will because one is viewed as derogatory while the other is not.

Im sure if you where filmed for 24 hours a day and had little sound bites taken from what you said . For example if I took the words black B*****rd from your statement and played just that portion on the news you would sound like a racist as well .
But surely if we're looking for political correctness then the Big brother house is the last place we should look , its a show that promotes bulling , the best bits are the fights no one is interested in people getting on for 3 weeks and having a good time .

I don't find black to be derogatory at all and that's just twisting words. My point was that in society one term is viewed as offensive while the other isn't. Part of the reason for that is due to centuries of ingrained racism and slavery.
The second part of your question, technically you are right but again it comes down to interpretation. White people have never had their skin colour looked down upon or viewed as inferior. Non whites have.
I watched it again last night and while I repeat there was no conclusive and direct racism there was again racist undertones IMO. Jade coming out with "Shilpa Popadom" was asking for trouble.
I was actually thinking last night that hopefully this will kill off the Big Brother series because if not there is going to be a tragedy sometime. Jade, Danielle and Jo are going to be subjected to a fair bit of abuse on the streets for a while to come.
Will the programme makers be happy when someone is attacked on the street by some idiot or someone takes their own life because of the stress and pressure???

Shilpa Pompadom now that is racist !!!!! As its a slight on her etnic back ground .
no one could take there own life the house is monitored so much and there are security gaurds literally feet away at all times .
As i say to people if you dont like it dont watch it , its consumers that drive these things if no-one watches ,no-one will sponser and the show dies !!
Well brains mahoney first off im not defending there actions im pointing out that it wasnt racist i have said 3 or 4 times that the comment are nasty and uncalled for but thats women thats what they do you only have to sit in a room with some for half an hour to here them bitching about some one or other .
