Alverez didn't stand out in the first division, hardly gonna make waves in the premier...

the only goal i remeber him scoring was when he got a hard time in the weekender about his lack of ability and when he did finaly score, he stuffed two footballs up his top, ran over to the side line and started pointing to Robbie Cullen in the press box...

Ok well i am very much in the minority but i always thought he displayed potential at least.

He got a least another one in the Showgrounds against Cobh, a last minute winner. He reminds me of a headless chicken without the pace and guile.
I may be wrong but didn't we win every game that alvarez scored in?
S.R.F.C. Sligo Rovers
Bringing back Alvarez would be a step in the wrong direction...unless he seriously improved since the last time he was here. Sound guy, but useless footballer
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
where is he now? he was up north wasnt he?

Glenavon get three-point penalty
Glenavon have been plunged into relegation trouble after having three points deducted for failing to get a work permit for a player from Bolivia.
It means the Lurgan club, only promoted last May, fall below Larne and are only a point ahead of Institute who occupy the one-from-bottom play-off place.
Glenavon played Carlos Alvarez, on loan from Sligo Rovers, in the 3-0 win over Ards in January.
Bottom club Ards have now been awarded the points from that fixture.
It was the only match Alvarez played for Jimmy Brown's team.
Glenavon did make sure they had international clearance to play Alvarez but did not seek a work permit.
