Fully agree with you but just as regards the Trust the Trustees approached by the club made it clear that they wouldn't get involved if it wasn't going to be very much independent.

I wasn't clear what I meant - I'd prefer a bit more independence from existing fundraising operations/organisations. Keep the trust as a seperate entity as far as possible.

Absolutely but at the same time you need people with the best interests of the club at heart and with a club our size there's going to be a little overlap. I think the balance looks pretty much right. Meeting next Thursday seemingly to get it up and running properly after the abortive meeting last time

From what I hear Athlone were the only club willing to take on Davy Byrne, there wasnt a mad rush for him at all. He is dead wood that had to be gotten rid of...money has to be freed up...
