With Roy we could win the league this season. Without him & no replacement it would seem unlikely.

If he is sold now we could add at least a 10% sell on clause which is where the real money is. We may have sold Kevin Doyle for pitance but at least we got a 10% sell on clause inserted in order to to quick deal. By conservative estimates that would be worth at least 1m euro in todays market.

I think negotiations would start above Alan Bennets fee earlier this season. Would a Premiership side (not Reading) bid <500k for such a young player?

Staunton picks his side based on the club players at paid by, If you are a Premiership sub you are automatically better than say Championship starter.

I wouldn't count previous deals as they were all cráp, paid far below the value, chronic history of this with City.

Benno is a defender, strikers imo should always get more return. Roy has scored 20 goals and its only half way through the season. Anything less that <€700 up front is not a good deal for us, end of.

    Stan is a plank

Latest development is that if/when Fulham buy Roy they will loan him to City until the end of the season or until city are out of the running for the league.

IMO this is a win win situation.

Some russian club tried to get roy on loan until november for 200k but City turned it down.

Yeah and Roy could have just signed a pre-contract with them and Fulham would have only had to pay 240k in compo.

If it was that easy dont you think Fulham would have done that? It was Watfords interested that sparked this happening.

He's gone, €450K initially rising to €800K with add ons.
He'll then be loaned back for the rest of the season.
Also i'm hearing a 20% sell on clause.
He'll travel there in the next 24 hours for a medical.

You mean after the Pats game surely?
I'd be surprised if its 20%. That's huge.
    Great deal.
Possibly the best part of this deal could be a happy Roy O'Donovan working hard for the rest of the season with a spring in his step.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

    G.O'Mahoney Trapattoni'll sort ém out!!

Definitely. Roy will want to impress his new manager. Best way to do it is score as many as possible

That's good business. Someone is getting their act together in Cork.
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week
