He never said he made, just transferred to Reading. They are a premiership side no?

Now that Cork have sold off their best players over the last year or two and are playing for european places rather than league titles...
What good has it done ?

Is the money going towards debts that were built up having those players in the first place or where is it going ??

He said both players went to Premiership first team squads. That's clearly not the casew ith Bennett.

I think Reading signed a few centre halves at the same time as Alan, he did make his debut in Japan in pre season for Reading.
He was then loaned to Southampton for 6 months.

Bennet did transfer to the 1st team squad as opposed to the youth team.

Who knows where the money going. Previous monies would certainly have gone a long way to making up revenue due to tax bill & lost sponsorship.

Even with extra cash it is difficult to find quality players & pay their wages.

We probably haven't made much money from Doyle, Long, Bennet & O'Donovan transfers at this stage but with sell on clauses hopefully we will start seeing extra cash in the next few years. It would be reasonable to expect that Doyle 10% clause would be worth E1m.

Depends on whether he gets any games with Sunderland. If he is playing in the reserves he is not likely to be called up unless there is a raft of withdrawals.

I presume the deal with him going to be loaned back to Cork for the rest of the season is part of this yeah?

No, that was part of the scuppered Fulham bid. He's gone for good AFAIK.

Ah right. I remember Keane(or maybe it was Quinn) saying he wouldn't mind arranging a similar loan deal with Cork for O'Donovan. Cork are in trouble for the rest of the season so...

It was a hardly a choice. They made a monumantal mistake with Doyle's contract, Long was stolen and the other wanted to leave.

It was Keane but he changed his mind when he convinced Roy not to go to the Fulham medical.

He might have gotten scared when he saw how ****e his strikers were too

Or in Roys case he was no longer the manager when the lad signed.

How long before O'Donovan has a thread in the Ireland section here?

The next day after his transfer I had fella at work asking me if he was any good. Granted he is not Irish but he still had never previously expressed an interest in the eL.

He came off the bench on 70 minutes when it was 0-1 to play right wing. Ended 2-2.
