I have seen it 4 times in 2006. I think it's a great film. I don't know how anyone could not like it! Heartless..

Ya, watched it with the missus but I got a little confused midway through (I had a few festive Baileys insde me so I can blame them!!!) but I got back on track. I laughed out loud when I saw the two porn stars trying to chat each other up.

I know and appreciate Bill Hicks, but still like the above movies. Is there something wrong with me?

Ah yes the age old arguement of "sure if you like these movies you clearly don't appriciate classic comedy/ movies etc..." Just because people enjoy something you don't doesn't make it wrong, I ****ing hate people with that mentality, its the same with music, what harm if people like stuff you don't??? Have a laugh about it don't be coming on here making out you're somehow better then others because you didn't have a chuckle and enjoy a film!!!!

bennocelt, it wasn't your taste I had the problem with, it was the language used to tell us you don't like Love Actually.

Seen it in the cinema and thought it was OK. Hugh Grant's always watchable, as is Martin Freeman. Bonus of Eliza Cuthbert at the end too. Wouldn't watch it again.

Like Drumcondra Red I can't understand people who get angry about people's tastes in music, films etc

Decent enough film. Grant is always good in that type of role. Actually, has he ever played any other role that that of a kind of geeky upper class Englishman??

Really don't understand people's reactions to movies like this. I mean my favourite movies of all time ranks Love Liza, Little Miss Sunshine, City of God, Bladerunner, Thin Red Line, Duck Soup, Withnail & I, and Cinema Paradiso amongst others, but I also enjoy no brainer popcorn movies like Love Actually, Superman Returns, Deja Vu, Saving Private Ryan, About a Boy etc. I'm not saying that movies like Love Actually, About a Boy, Deja Vu and the like will change the world, but as two hours of escapism they do the trick nicely.

And personally I thought that Laura Linney and Emma Thompson's respective characters in Love Actually told great stories, and were played brilliantly by the two actresses mentioned

Parts of it were good but it was a bit of a mess overall. Tried to do too much IMO.

I only saw it for the first time and thought it was a good film. The plot wasn't great but it was alright enough.
