Lightbulb 100 eircom League things we didn't know at the start of 2006

    1. If the FAI and the League would actually merge and create a new league.
    2.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

    18. That the team that finished 3rd in the First Division would be promoted and the team who finished 2nd and won the playoff wouldn't. It's crazy
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

    From the FAI website:
“Having spoken to the League, FAI and IAG I am quite happy and content that everything was done above board,” said Mr Gerry Mathews. CEO Dundalk. even Dundalk must now have read what they signed!

not going down this road again but - even at GUFC there was a bit of surprise but in fairness everyone knew from start of the season that this seasons league placings were not going to be the deciding factor -
