There was another Roddy book about Athlone winning the first division in 2013. Think it was called In Rod We Trust. Don't suppose there's anywhere at all that could be found now? I'd say it's a very limited print

Ask Roddy himself, extra print run probably make the base of his boxing ring. Im only kind of joking!
Roddy told a great story on BTS a few years ago about that year. He was at Longford v Mervue with Longford leading the way but starting to slip up in the title race. Longford had a poor first half and somehow Roddy managed to get down the tunnel and stand outside the Longford dressing room. He heard tony cousins going absolutely mental and he said to himself, I've got this fella now. There was a famous exchange between the two on local radio in the lead up to a crucial H2H clash later that season and as usual Roddy destroyed his opponent with mind games. We bottled a 13 point lead and the rest is history
Did TC happen to say 'Id love it if we beat them' through tears?
On an unrelated topic I was listenin to Indo Sport podcast and there was an interview with ex ROI GK and ex Galway Utd,Derry City and Millwall GK David Forde whos launching his autobiography. He mentioned that his relationship with ex ROI mgt team Martin O Neill and Roy Keane wasnt great when he was dropped as ROI GK when Darren Randolph took his place in the squad.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Once I saw Roddy himself get really wound up for a particularly think skinned chap, In Gortakeegan Mick Cooke was getting a barrage from Roddy about LSL team, pub club, it'd be an embaressment taking a job like that etc. and that was the civil stuff. Pretty sure Roddy was with was Dublin City, only one that mkes sense unless it was preseason and Id have no idea why Id be there preseason never mind competative game, curiosity, or checking out Monaghan youth players when they were still legally poachable to another club....!? Cook stayed nice and calm with 'youd be right at home here then Rod, I'll keep the seat warm for you then its all yours and you'll have found your level. Roddy just shut up, no comeback, no yeah yeah stuff, just turned and focused on the game. Cook shaking his head with a grin. It was like Collins saw Cook was reading the tea leaves and was spooked. Low and behold the Rod Squad thing happened a few years later and it was kind of peak success after the early days at Bohs and then Mons going bang giving him the chance at Athlone.Athlone and for Dundalk to go after Stephen Kenny cause we sayed up.
