Not sure about online, but it's available in store in Waterstones and Easons in Cork.

For anyone interested, there's an article by Martin Moore on the origin of football in Ireland in the current edition of the History Ireland magazine.

One book that seems to have stayed under the radar is "Irish Soccer Migrants: A Social and Cultural History" by Conor Curran and published by the Cork University Press in 2017. More academic and statistical in nature than a laugh-a-minute, it's worth the money for the brilliant statistics he has put together on Irish-born players who played football professionally abroad. For example, he has a table of the counties of birth of players who went to England between 1945-2010 and gives a number of five from Wexford. Also benefits from interviews he has managed to get from stars such as Damien Richardson, Mick Meagan, Martin Russell, Shane Supple, Paddy Mulligan, etc., etc.

City fan Tony Tobin is bringing out a collection of his poems sometime next month (I think).
"Rebel Rhymes" will contain the best of his work, many of which have appeared on the CCFCForum over the years.
Probably best to pop on to the club's Twitter or official site over the coming weeks if anyone is interested.

Trying to work out is it would be easier or harder than normal to be a poet in a city where most sentences end in 'boy'.

Recently picked up Neale Horgan's third book and the UCD book, "One Night In Dudelange".

Robert Goggins will have a new one out for Christmas about Shamrock Rovers' FAI Cup history.

The St Pat's and Galway books are still a year away say the authors.

    Anything else this year?

Robert Goggins has written a book about Shamrock Rovers and the FAI Cup but I think the number of copies are limited.
Rovers 25 Cup Wins Book Launch

Written for the 25th FAI Cup win for the Hoops, this coming Sunday sees the launch of the book ‘She Wore A Green Ribbon’ at 2pm in Tallaght Stadium.

With a record twenty-five FAI Cup titles under their belts the story of Shamrock Rovers FC in this competition is rich and varied. How the entire history of the club might not have happened at all had it not been for the heroics of the team back in 1921/22. Playing then as a Leinster Senior League club, that team rolled over more illustrious opposition to go all the way to the very first final when they lost out to St. James’s Gate but only after a replay.

Rovers did win their very first title though four years later in the ‘Ringsend Derby’ when they beat Shelbourne. They went on to win five titles in a row from 1929 to 1933 – a record beaten only by themselves in the 1960s. The Cup has always had a special place in the hearts of all Hoops fans and the achievement of the team of 2019 in winning the 25th title was an event witnessed by thousands who will never forget that day.

The story of Shamrock Rovers’ involvement in the FAI Cup from day one to that momentous day at the Aviva Stadium in November 2019 has been captured in a year by year format by Robert Goggins in his latest publication ‘She Wore a Green Ribbon’. The book contains lots of snippets that will leave the reader with a great knowledge of the club’s history in this competition.

This is a limited edition publication containing 224 pages in B5 format. Don’t be disappointed so make sure to pick up your copy in time for Christmas. The cost is €20 with 100% of profits going directly to the SRFC Academy.

Launch in the club Megastore, Sunday 8th Dec at 2pm. The Cup will be available for photographs.

I dont think this has been mentioned, and I know it isnt book related but it is in the historical ball park. Recently posted on a local Dundalk FB page, Rovers fans will enjoy if not seen before. Dalymount hasnt changed a bit! https://www.facebook.com/LondonLilywhites/ Havent a notion how to cap the footage to share. Is there many earlier clips than 1932 for other clubs?
