McGrath doesn't think keane will return

    Saw this on www.a2zsoccer.com

Now wouldn't that be some laugh if he didn't come back after all his moaning.

Republic of Ireland legend, Paul McGrath, believes it is unlikely Roy Keane will ever play for his country again.
Keane pledged never to play for Ireland again following his bust-up with Mick McCarthy prior to the World Cup finals.

However, McCarthy's resignation on Tuesday has paved the way for the Manchester United skipper to return to the international scene.

Despite the feeling that Keane will be back for the Euro 2004 qualifiers in March, McGrath is not so sure: "It is highly unlikely Roy will make a return to international football," said McGrath. "It seemed quite clear he would call it a day after the World Cup, partly because of the huge amount of travel involved in the modern game.

"As captain and driving force at both Manchester United and Ireland, the workload was becoming unbearable. He was beginning to feel the pressure.

"My gut feeling is that Roy is gone and will stay gone, irrespective of whoever is manager."

McGrath, and all other media pudits for that matter, should shut their f***in mouths and stop pressuring RK one way or the other via the papers etc. The decision is noone but Roy's and he should be left in peace to make that decision.

Fair enough, I agree. I'm just saying that the media have no right to put so much pressure on one way or the other.

NO! He was the one who walked into the media circus by publishing a book- he has to learn to take the rough with the smooth

Wrong, dead WRONG. His future in the team is something for Roy, the FAI and noone bloody well else to discuss.
BTW, I suppose Mick DIDN'T walk into that same media circus by publishing a book.

The bottom line is if Keane comes back into the team then we have a chance of qualifying for euro 04 otherwise we have no chance. You can debate all day long but qualifying for the euros has to be the top priority so we can finally put all this behind us.

Weather you are pro Keane or not it has to be said that he did us no favors walking out before the world cup, my own personal feeling is that he did the right thing at the wrong time. But I also think that he really wanted to play in the world cup so it took something extra-ordinary to make him want to go home. As i have said before the FAI are the real ones to blame because they were the ones who put McCarthy in the difficult position by not having thier logistical arrangements correct in the first place.

Btw calling Keane a traitor IMo is wrong. I can never remember him having a bad game for Ireland and he always gives 100% on the pitch. After all he put into qualifying for the tournament it is unfair to call him a traitor.

But everybody has thier own view on it.

you can never remember seeing him having a bad game for Ireland Real Ale Madrid - what about the woeful performance against Turkey in the play-off's at Lansdowne Road.

It's up to him if he wants to return - no more Alex Ferguson telling ireland when Keane can and cannot play.

A friendly or no friendly - keane better make his mind up soon. He's either committed or not.

Why should we wait around until King Roy decides whether to play. No more surprise injuries from him anymore. I'm sick of hearing about keane and Man U. remember ye are all irish and the national team should be number one.

B0llox...... the club you support should, and does, come first..... I'd far rather Longford Town win the title or cup or even qualify for europe again than Ireland do anything......
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

    Really ?
You have only displayed anti-RK sentiment on this forum so far.
Are you actually for anything ?

But, wait. Of course you are. You'd be for "Oirlan" wouldn't you boy?

Typical reply from a people's Republic of Cork man. I'll never forgive Keane for what he has done to this team.

If you fancy replying, could you at least answer in a language we all understand Cork Byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Don't tar us all with the same brush. There's only a small few empty vessels that are staunch Keane-ites. The kind of muppets who see on RTE news at the book signing in Easons! An ambarrassment to us...

    Typical reply from a waffler.
Like a typical windbag, you come up with the pathetic argument that because I do not agree with you, I must be against you.

I simply pointed out to you that the vast majority of your verbosity on this site has been to slag off RK. Have you anything positive to say about anything?
I am neither for or against RK, but to find that out, you would actually have to read and understand what is posted here. That would be too much trouble for you, though.

There's only a small few empty vessels that are staunch Keane-ites.
I would think that there is more than a small few, Neil. There seems to be an equal number of anti-RK empty vessels so I guess all that emptiness will balance itself out.
