The same as some people don't read thread titles very well?
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

The thing about selling too many (yes too many) season tickets is that it hampers the cash flow during the season, as numbers paying at the gate will be much lower. Do you guys have any fundraisers in the midseason, thats when most clubs start to run dry...

It's largely Galway's own fault. No club should ever publicly announce or even give a perception that they can pay a large amount to players or clubs.

I agree, but what is done is done and we now have to move on from that, you learn from your mistakes as they say!

That kind of business naivete loses you 20 points on your IAG score. Oh, look who is top off the field now.

At least Cousins got the corner of the 5 from back page of one tabloid to try and explain the reality of the situation.

Although the Shels programme suffered in the early start of last season things turned around and when advertising costs are added into the mix it's going to make a profit for 2007.

With average gates over 15000 and a little bit of planning you can make money from programme easily. the problem the idiot clubs have is advertising is not marked against the programme so it appears to be running at a loss.

700K for Galways playing budget for the season and they are going full time

How many players are you working off ?
    If its 20 thats 700,000/20=35,000.

Would you really get full time professional players that would cost around 35K each per year ?

There are many clubs about that would sign these guys on a part time basis and they would have their weely job and their part time wage. Seems to me you may rule out a lot of players who simply can't afford to play football for 35K a season.

My thinking is you have to be hitting the million mark before you can make a go of fully full time.

Sure we could all post smart comments on everyones Match Programme if you like ?

Facts are the Shelbourne Programme was produced and was available for almost every game last season. There were problems along the way and we had some games without a programme but thankfully thats all covered now and we're back up and running.

    You can stop your worrying

    "Almost every game"

And you NEED to produce one for every game as per licensing.

    g.u have

a golf classic,a black tie Ball,a 5 a side tournament with relative celebs and a couple of other fundraisers so those pull in a good bit of money during mid season when its needed.so its not all about the season ticket sales but those do give a good foundation to work off though.

Not paying printers is different from getting free printing, remember.

Average gates of 15000? Are you following the Dublin City school of how to get a licence?

We're lucky that within the Eircom League/ Senior Football here in Ireland that club loyality is paramount.
Thats why clubs know they can divulge the yearly budgets knowing that the football mercenary doesn't exist in our league.
