This has all been known for months. The big question is how they'll mark the non-sporting category.
Watch This Space Lads, A Single League next year, home and away
"Transitional" it will be called
Will suit our full time policy as at least 5 midweek games will need to be held to get it to a finish on time. Maybe the MC were really on the ball?

That wouldnt make sense as it would defeat the purpose of what they have been working to for the last 2 years as well as disregard the Genesis report and the supposed FAI strategy to strengthen the Top division and therefore Irish football.
What if for example Galway and or FinnHarps or someone else finishes ahead of say Bray and Waterford and they then cut the league into top 12 for premier and bottom 10 for 1st division ?
Then what they have being trying to do for the last 2 years was a waste of time. If the did that they may as well have just left the promotion and relegation process as was without any need to rank teams etc.

i wouldn't mind 1 league for an expermental basis...
its kinda a bit unfair plain 1 away, 2 home or vice versa..
That one league sounds like bull, plus it wouldn't suit rovers

Sports headline in the Champion next season, Galway take the three points in the Showgrounds.
Galway United came away from the Showgrounds with a hard fought victory even though there was no actual football on show. The clincher for Galway was the issue of having seatbelts on the team bus. Rovers started well with a well oiled presentation by John Chadda of the proposed new clubhouse. Galway countered by their impressive slideshow of their new stand. Just as it looked like the points were going to be shared, Galway snatched it with the seatbelts.

In the second game in the Showgrounds, the game was postponed when a local unwittingly wandered on to the subs bench, much to the consternation of the home crowd.
He was dispatched with flying scissors karate kick from the event controller, Oliver Davey.
I copied this from another thread, but it's interesting from a Rovers viewpoint.

how did galway do so well off the field? fare play to them!
Fare play had nothing to do with it.
Not bitter.
Just wondering what a fee paid by a passenger has to do with anything.
More seriously, well done to Galway, and also to UCD while I'm at it - second in spite of our attendances disadvantage. I seem to recall the Genesis (?) punters praising Galway's set up, so this shouldn't be that big a surprise.
Something weird is going on here. I can't access the second page of this thread.
EDIT: Now I can, but my old post has disappeared.
