So UCD and not UCD FC foot the bill for their education. Correct?

If they applied through the CAO the government foots the bill (the same as anyone else).

The only exception would be students in sports management who can apply either through the CAO or through an application to UCD, in the second case the soccer club pays.

And the extra money comes from the club, right?
You can't spell failure without FAI

Yep but the question was who pays for the education.

How many of our top players - say, those who end up playing with any sort of regularity for the first team - do a course other than sports management these days?

Back in the day, you had Clive and Kenfold doing Commerce, Alan Mahon in Arts, Gavin Whelan in Science, etc. Doesn't seem to be the case these days from what I can tell?

How could UCD FC pay for the eduaction what money have they got. I think everyone in football knows the sports management course is a joke, even the FAI and for that reason you might not get into the new league.

If the gate money was the only source of income you'd have a valid point but thankfully we do a good job fundraising.

You're contradicting yourself a bit there. Last week you were saying we have no need for money, this week we don't have enough.

There's 2 cources in sports management. One is an ordinary degree and the other a certificate. The first is less of a joke than the second.

And yes, the club does a lot of fundraising.

So let me get this straight, the Government pays the education fees (or registration - CAO) of all players at UCD who go to college there?

    UCD FC pay their wages.

UCD let them have a ground for free, in return for 'representing' the college.

    Is that right?

Everything except the quotation marks around the word 'representing'.

Well we are the best administered club in the entire League. Because we are the only club the PFAI didn't have to speak to concerning unpaid wages to players.

Can I not ask a question student mullet? I didn't realise that the government paid the college fees. And as far as wages go Tony Mc Donnell is the only one who has a wage worth mentioning as far as I heard all the so called students earn pitance

No idea re wages, although I remember a story about James Timmons looking for £75 a week about six years ago. But the bottom line is the players are evidently happy with the wages they're getting as we've a solid squad who've been around for three years or so. Obviously not going to be able to compete with full time offers from cross channel though.
