Anyone see Keane on the news last night signing copies of his book?

See the reception that ****er got last night in Easons in Cork last night. How is this man been glorified after what he did in the summer. It's a joke. He shouldn't be welcome over here.

I can only imagine the reception.

btw without starting the whole debate again i am convinced he would not be so popular if he was playing for say Arsenal.

I'm not saying ALL RK fans are Manchester ones but it undoubtadly adds to his "appeal" (get it )

It has nothing to do with the poxy Premiership. What is of concern to me, and should be for the rest of the nation, is what happens to the Republic of Ireland national team. Whether he plays for Manchester United or Arsenal, makes no odds, they are both Englsih teams which have nothing to do with us mate.

So no one thinks RK would be less popular if he played for a team with less irish-based "supporters"?

ah, i dont really think so Pete. I mean not much has actually been said about Keane playing for MUFC in the course of all the argument on foot.ie and i havent really heard it been taken up in discussions with people elsewhere either.
'less' popular Ok, but not much less.

Why is that everyone on here who doesn't consider Keane to be a "f*ck" or a "traitor" is automatically accused of being a "Man Utd supporter" or a "West Brit". It's getting plain boring.

Aren't we allowed to have differences of opinion on here?

    Shano,

How can you say english teams have nothing to do with us when that's where the majority of our best players are developed?

We may not like that fact, but still that's a fact!

If a new brilliant irish player suddenly springs up at an EL club, versus suddenly springing up at Man Utd, which one are you naturally going to be more excited about???

(And i mean this from the National Team point of view not from an individual club preference)

for me personally, I´d be much more excited about an eL player- thats where my passion is, not with the overpaid prima donnas in england.

But if you're purely only keeping the National Team in mind...!!!!

.. you know as well as i do that they ignore EL players, so you're not going to get too excited that the guy will rip international defences apart!

I´ll be honest, I love to see the Irish team doing well, but the eircom League is far more important to me and far closer to my heart.

E.g. one of the Ireland games was on months ago and chorus had highlights of some kilkenny game on- I was watching Kilkenny.

Ok, well from that point of view, that's fair enough then!
