Well, it would be a shame to lose Stephen Cooling, but i think a player of his quality should be playing in the Premier

"Ryan also confirmed that goalkeeper and last year's captain, Brendan Kennedy is on his way out of Station Road after being let go and he will be joined through the exit door by Alan Mulcahy and Dave Scully. "

    Good riddance.

They were our three biggest let-downs of the season.

Too true philly Scully was just frustrating to watch and often forgot to pass the ball.

I would really like to see Cooling stay for another season. One factor that might convience to stay (I hope) is the certainty of first team football with county while playing with a premier team will limit his chances. But he did say in the article that wanted to go to the premier division.

I'm pretty sure that he lives in Dublin so if it is Pats that are after him then I can't see him turning down an offer. He could well become one of the better midfielders in the Premier anyway.

    We need a replacement though.

We need a keeper (current two just aren't experienced)
    Two defenders (cover)
Two wingers and a creative centre midfielder.(that can pass the ball. How I miss Zellor)
    We are good for strikers.

The problem with getting a goalkeeper with experience is its very difficult (in this league anyway) to get a good goalkeeper for free.
Any goalkeeper that has been released is because they have had a poor season(s) or are simply not up to standard. I think that if County are to acquire a goalkeeper its going to cost us and the problem there is that the money might not be there to buy one.

I think that Sheppard can play on the wing and I hope that the rumours are true because I've heard decent things about him, he appears to just have been a bit unlucky at Shamrock Rovers in that they have players that were just that bit better.

Signing Wilie doyle in the stirker department wouldn't be bad move, he has the eircom league experience that only Philly Gorman can possibly match.

    True.

Hopefully whoever plays in between the sticks next season won't constantly hoof the ball up the pitch every time he gets the ball...

There was often snow coming down on those balls alright. Had its use in one or two matches (the draw against Shamrock rovers for example).

St. Pats or UCD would be ideal for Cooling IMO. He would have a far better chance of a game there than at any of the other dublin clubs.

Players available for free on the pfai website

    http://pfai.ie/index.php?mod=one&id=15625

Willie Doyles there and also two goalkeepers. Don't think we would stand a chance enticing Dean Delany though and Dunphy has only played 5 times for Waterford.

Kildare county must surely be looking for a goalkeeper now with the departure of Donnelly.

No word of any definiate incomings, has me worried when you see all the activity of other clubs.

No word on the club website, could be one of those players John Ryan was still in talks with. Hopefully we will hear something soon.

No more word on the Cooling situation?

Aparantly we have cleared our tax debts and most other debts now.

Good side: We are sound financially for the future.
Bad side: We won't have much to invest in the playing squad for the coming season.

To be brutally honest I would prefer the club to be finanically sound before getting anywhere near success.

At the same time would like to see success in my lifetime.
