Draw date set for 2007 competition

The draw for the 2007 Setanta Sports Cup will be held at the Coach House, Dublin Castle on Thursday next (December 7th).

Chief Executive of Setanta Sports Niall Cogley will conduct the proceedings, aided by former Republic of Ireland star Ray Treacy and ex-Northern Ireland ace Billy Hamilton, now a pundit with Setanta Sports.

Suits us David - we beat all of those teams in last years competition
Hunky Dorys Park - could be worse, we could be going to Old Trafford every other week

Goes without saying that I would want Linfield and Drogheda to go through.

Depending upon who we get for Manager of course, I suspect this is going to be Derry's year in the Setanta !

We've got the whole 'historic occassion' etc etc nerves and hype out of the way, so now we can just concentrate on the football.

If we can avoid having another extremely tight group then we should be off and running, as we can beat anyone in a one-off game.

On performances against us, you were the best side that we played last year but you fluffed it with an awful result against the worst Glens team in years.

I think it's fairly obvious that most other teams are going to want to play us.
We seem to be in a bit of turmoil at the moment.

It doesn't really matter who we get, but I'd like

Linfield (because we haven't played there yet)
Shelbourne (because we play well against them and I think they'll bein a spot of turmoil too)
Dungannon (because we don't want to finish bottom of the group )

Looking forward to hearing the news this evening anyway..

I am assuming you are a Cork supporter. I want to play you for the reason you have outlined as well as we would make a few days trip out of it, staying down there at least overnight. I have always wanted to play you, nothing to do with how you are faring at the minute.

Would be good to re-open the Shed with a "glamour game" against someone like Linfield as a good crowd would be guaranteed.

I want to draw Cork as I'm sick of beating Shels and a trip to Cork is always welcome.

Keen to play Portadown for novelty value never having been in Shamrock Park and Dungannon as we got a warm welcome there for a friendly last season.

How many tickets do you think we would be allocated?

New capacity would be 8,000 I think.
You could probably get anything up to 500 I'd say.

Linfield be warned though. We may have to let you down if Barca are available for the shed re-opening game
