It's all well and good saying we should have stayed in the Premier, but to be honest I don't think there would've been a team by December.Going in to the teams in town and getting hammered week in week out,I can't think of many players that would keep it up for a full season. What would happen if we had to pull out half way through the season?I couldn't see us being allowed back in to the league for a very long time if that happened.
The decision to drop down a division was made AFTER all the players had left,we haven't lost a whole lot,but then again, what was left was mostly loyal B and C team players,so they weren't going to leave anyway. We've had a few more strong additions to the team over the past few months and weeks, so you'd never know.
should have been to the youths stage for the start of next season but we lost the 15/16s two seasons back when difficulties between the managers and a small number of the players resulted in the then chairman pulling the teams which was disasterous. We will be to 15/16s for the coming season and will attempt to put a 17s in place
Once those underage players start to come through and aided hopefully by a few of the older lads everything will work out for the best having trained with a few of those young lads I know that some of them just lack a small bit of physical strength but that will come with age. As the saying goes sometimes you have got to go back to go forward. As for staying in 1A I can speak on behalf off all the players on our A team when I say we are not going to go down without a fight. Last Sunday was the first time all season we started with a side that resembled an A team only one player missing, this was the first time since I signed this has happened. Every player is committed to staying up and we will strive to do so. Even if we are to be replaced next year the club hopefully will be able to keep going forward.

Not a bad team... If ye stick together hopefully its good enough to keep ye up!
like most people in shannon he has played with a few clubs , but came up with the shannon town schoolboys. he played in town with hill celtic also....
'You should never have a bad game, off the ball.......'
you are only a loser when you stop trying. Playing sport does not build character, it reveals it.
How many games have park left in the league and whats there chances of survivng??
they can still catch coonagh
yes u r right seesit my mistake they need to catch hill celtic but it looks doubtful they have played 2 games more than them and have less points. it looks like park and coonagh look doomed unless they put a really good run together
