Good for Pat. Now he's finished being a union representative he can start managing his first proper football club.
As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls

Not taking any offers he might have had into the mix, you can't really blame him for resigning from Shels after everything that's happened this season. Shels will find it very hard to replace him. Wonder what the odds are for an load of players leaving now as well.....

Jesus. I never thought I'd say this.... but I pity Shels. Kick in the teeth with Fenlon leaving, and now being linked to the King of the Long Ball. And after all the good football they played this season.

    Poor guys.

Guy on the news last night from Derry, saying the club wouldn't take long to name their new manager. So it really looks like Fenlon is heading Foyleside.

I wish him the best only if he goes to Derry. Otherwise I'll probably go back to hating him. What a fickle world I live in.

From the outside looked like Fenlon was holding Shels together. Now he gone I expect a lot of players to also leave.

Fenlon pretty much told all who'd care to listen he was gone weeks ago.

His tv presenting mate s couldnt have made the hints any more explicit.

It's a very intriguing development. It'll be interesting to see if Pat can create similar success elsewhere and it'll be interesting to see how it effects Shelbourne. Fair play to Fenlon for seeing the season out. It would have been easy in some senses to hop into the Bohs job with the funds they'll have available.

Dermot Keely was a name bandied about in the press a few months ago in relation to replacing Fenlon.

Well I think that would have been the case if Pat had jumped ship during the season.

I assume you mean a mass exodus from Tolka?

Yes, all those players dreading the thoughts of the Setanta Cup and Champions League football. Why wouldn't they be queuing up to leave?

Thanks Pat for the three titles and eight-game European run. Best of luck whether its in Denmark or Derry.

I'd certainly play in the Setanta and Champions League for free, but I'm not sure many Shels players fancy doing it again.
