    Licensing

I see that we have been awarded a Premier standard Licence by the FAI, obviously the club committee must have done a lot of work on this so fair play to them. There also appears to be a fair bit of work going on with the ground, I passed there today and the pitch has been widened and a bulldozer has removed the boundary wall at the lower end of the ground and the pitch looks like it is going to be lengthened. Good to see that work is going on.

    Stephen,

It does not look like Ramblers will go up as Rovers Dundalk and Galway also got Premier Licenses and as they all finished above us I cannot see ramblers being promoted. Nor do they deserve to be given they finished 4th in the league. There will be 12 in the premier and 10 in the first .

CBG you are right it is great to see all the work going on. I also thought the stand should have been up by now whats the update?

Ya i reckon out of the 11 teams in the premier this season, ucd and waterford wont be in it next year.. Then add the 9 remaining existing premier teams plus rovers, dundalk and galway.. Theres your premier for next year, if there was 13 teams rams would be the 13th!! So close.. But ya never know we might get in it..

I think all 10 teams who are currently there will stay there as they all got Licences along with Rovers. Then it is down to Dundalk and Galway and as they both got Licences it is hard to call.I hope Dundalk as they finished higher up the table and at the end of the day the table is what should count.

Have to disagree there when its a case of Galway or Dundalk just because they finished above us. There are a lot of things that decide final points count for each club, one being the league positions for the last five years as far as I'm aware. Not sure where Galway or Dundalk finished last year or the year before but we finished well up each year. Anyone got any figures on clubs final positions over the last few years...

    Absoloutely no hope sorry.
Not saying we're guaranteed(far from it) but both GUFC and Dundalk would be ahead of Cobh.

This puts a different picture on things for me. Maybe we do have a better chance then I thought. If they drop 1 team out we may get in by the skin of our teeth.

Roll on the 11th of December

    Season 2006 Dundalk 2nd Galway 3rd Rams 4th
    season 2005 Dundalk 6th Galway 5th Rams 3rd
    Season 2004 Dundalk 6th Galway 5th Rams 8th
    Season 2003 Dundalk 10th Galway 7th Rams 8th
    Season 2002 Dundalk 10th Galway 3rd Rams 4th

Looking at this Galway would have the best chance and then Rams then Dundalk.

sure all we can do is wait.. i have a feeling we might get in. to be fair theres been more work done off the field in the last two years than the last twenty.. can't fault the club for not giving it a proper go this time..

there is no point speculating cause you never know what the supreme commanders are gonna do, they might prommote us, they might desolve the leauge, that is what your dealin with, on the development side of things they seem to progessing good dunno when the stand will be in (looks like a week our so delay dunno but its not much these thing are unavoidable wouldnt blame anyone) the pitch extension is goin good the wall on the north side is nearly complete and the west end isnt started yet but there is around 2-3 foot extension each way minimum, we seem to have a new sponser for next season and good year are also stayin on from what iv'e hearrd things are lookin up for the rams.

    Welcome conway constrution

Still I can't understand how anyone could contemplate that Galway, who fall down on 50% of the criteria, be picked ahead of UCD, who fall down on 10% of the criteria.

No point in having an all Ireland League with 7 or 8 teams out of 10 from Dublin or within 10 miles of it. FAI are looking at all Ireland not all Dublin....therefore teams like Galway have to be better for the league then another Dublin Team unfortunatly...

Would be like a premier league without Man U, Liverpool etc and only having Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham all playing one another 4 times a year !!!

What are you on about? Firstly there are only 5 teams from Dublin out of 12- not 7 or 8 from 10. Secondly, it seems that you have missed that there are criteria that the teams will be picked from.
