    Favourite kind of goal.

What is your favourite kind of goal.................

Almost invariably, Goal of the Week/Season is won by a shot from 30 yards or so, but there are other kinds. Here is a far from complete list, as much as it is possible to identify 'kinds' of goal.

    A long shot.

A team move ending in a goal.

One player running past 3 or 4 players and scoring.

    An almighty scramble

A player beating the offside trap and one on one with keeper.

I've always been a big fan of one player picking up the ball 40 yards or so, and going for goal, with my frustration at his selfishness turning to ecstacy as he runs past everybody and knocks it in.

    Own Goals

Especially when they bounce off someones head taking them
by complete surprise, and then the ones where a backpass
    goes horribly wrong

I scored one of those yesterday, so I'll pass on that.

I've always liked goals which come from an incisive pass and a nice piece of skill to beat a defender (either from the passer or the finisher).

Any goal scored by a team I follow.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Dude, you need to be taken out back and beaten.
Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

Technically , imo, one of the most perfectly executed goals, Bergkamp with back to goal receives the pass, exquisite touch, swivels and bangs it into the net. No hint of a fluke at all.
Can't remember the when who or where but sometime within the last 5 years in the EPL, evening game.
Other than that, any one of of 50 goals by George Best, icing on the cake.

hehehee that's great. what a ball in!

favorite goals are any by matt letissier! team goals and dribbling ones are really the best though, the long-range piledriver and free-kick (zzz..) goals aren't my cup of tea at present. crisp and clever short passing with a diving header to round it off, how can you beat that. also like low shots, the half-volley or one-hopper into the corner.

    This might re-jig some memories.

I always thought this goal should be more famous.
Only usurped by other events in this brilliant match.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

This has got to be the best goal I've ever seen. I can't even begin to understand how he scored it.

    Messis goal is absolutely ridiculous.
Apparently he's playing in the under-19 or under-20 World Cup this Summer.
Imagine how ****ed off you'd be if you saw that fecker stretching and jumping up and down just before kick-off against you, and you only some sprightly young fella from St. Josephs boys.
An amazing thing i saw watching that is I never realised Diego never used his right foot for that entire passage of play towards the goal.

The goal posted by Superfrank is pretty feckin impressive alright.
    What team is that?
