Which paper?? Thats a load of bollock....not from you Kerry Blue, but from the paper. The league will give Limerick every chance.
According to one of today's papers Drew has until 12pm tomorrow to sort out the club's licence (a ground for next season in other words), otherwise the club will not be in the league next year.
If you don't like John 3:7...
There's always Limerick 37!

id say it will be about 2/3 weeks before we hear anything for good or bad, but i dont think we'll be playing in Hogan park ever again as none of the interested parties (Limerick FC/FAI) have gotten a playing lease![]()

It was the Mirror, Joe. It's had quite a few dramatic headlines over the past couple of weeks concerning Limerick. They seem to think the club is already dead. I'm just waiting for the headline with the words 'Limerick', 'phoenix' and 'ashes' in them to appear some time soon now.![]()
I think you're right there Gael. From what I can gather, Drew is trying to work out a deal with the LDMC for Jackman and if he can't then I suppose he'll have to try with the Desmond League and Askeaton.Originally Posted by gael353

Why will Fr Young not give the FAI a lease on Hogan Park ?
If Limerick are back at Jackman will they have to play on Sunday afternoons ?
Considering that question and response were given with less than 48 hours before a final decision would be made by the FAI as to whether or not there would even be a Limerick FC anymore I think saying that there was nothing we could do now was a perfectly reasonable response
The failure to get a licence has been appealed and a decision is expected within 5 days.
I wonder what has been done to change the decision??
'wrong!', who are you? Paris Hilton? Anyway that question that I answered was asked in this thread, not last year. Fair enough you can say that we could have been asking that question all year, but if you look through our threads you'll see that we have. My response had to do with a fan asking what we can do 48 hours before our appeal is submitted, and the answer to that one is still a big fat zero
Its a great shame in the season just gone, that the issue of a ground could not have been sorted before it began. Responsibilty for that lies equally with Joe Young and the club. With Galway now being a part of the Premier set-up and us talking of a return to Jackman Park it just shows where we are in the scheme of things. Take nothing away from Galway, they deserve to be a part of it. However on the way this club is run, we don't, and a return to Jackman Park for me signals the future will be more of the same.
I've been harping on about this for ages now but we could really do with a public meeting from the club explaining whats going on, and where we're going. Seriously lads, this is a f**king joke. 12euro a match next season???
Limerick 3:7
"Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again"
So getting away from the name calling and the doom and gloom, what can be done?
Imo, forget Hogan Park, whatever Young wants obviously can't be given if a return to Jackman Park is being mooted. So, if Hogan Park is gone, what's the next best thing? Is it Jackman, Pike Rovers, or where, should the Market's field be tried for one last season (is it due to be knocked?), or Thomond Park, would one of the rugby clubs allow a ground share? Should Limerick try and work a deal with UL or LIT?
Also, leaving Hogan Park may be no bad thing for Limerick FC, the majority of the "floating" Limerick sports supporters (ie summer hurling supporters, HEC rugby supporters etc) will never feel comfortable going to Southill for games, you'd get more at a field in Castletroy than at a stadium in Southill. (not my fault they're snobs, but they are, so lets accept it for now).
Now, how do you get the floating fans who turned Munster from a 400 supporter base to a 40,000 supporter base into following Limerick FC?
I have been warned by Pete the moderator that I will be "taking a break for a while" if my personal attacks continue, so I've been biting my tongue. I hope this doesn't constitute a personal attack and I will word it carefully as I can:
Basically, we have been told more bare-faced lies:
RTE said:Danny Drew said:Limerick FC may be on the verge of moving back to Jackman Park four years after leaving the venue.
Limerick Chairman Danny Drew said yesterday that they would meet with Limerick Junior soccer chiefs, the Limerick District Management Committee (LDMC) this evening. (Fri Dec 8)I have personally spoken to three committee members of the LDMC. All three have confirmed that there was no official meeting last Friday night. Nobody from the LDMC was expecting to meet Danny Drew. And all three knew of no pending meeting to broach the subject.'We will meet with the Limerick District Management Committee tonight to discuss the possibility of us playing at Jackman Park in the future.
'We have also requested a meeting with the Limerick Desmond League with a view to playing at their ground in Askeaton but we are waiting for them to get back to us.'
Drew also confirmed that the Polish business consortium associated with a takeover bid for the club are still very interested.
He added: 'We are having ongoing talks with the Polish people concerned and the picture should become clearer after tonight's meeting.'
This is yet another lie. This may sound like a personal attack but it isn't. It is born out of frustration at being constantly lied at again and again and again by the sole controlling force within the club.
It is sickening. And he is sickenng. I'm off now before I get banned.
