Would even McAteer make the squad anyway, now that his best friend Mick is gone?
Hey,
If Keane was to come back...
It's going to be funny to see what happens between him and McAteer!
Would even McAteer make the squad anyway, now that his best friend Mick is gone?
I think......
McAteer will announce his retirement soon,
Carsley , Kenna and Kilbane are finished as well
looking dodgy for
Breen, Kiely, Harte, Cunningham, Babb
Now the new manager cannot get rid of all those players in one go, but I cannot see them being involved too much longer.
Kenna, Kiely and Cunningham are still good enough, unless you can suggest adequate replacements
How would Keane get on with the whole squad?
Ddidn't he basically insult all of them in Saipan.
Funniest comment from last 6 months were when Keane was slagging off the rest of the squad for boozing just because he'd only recently seen the light of not drinking himself.

How about that... an alco preaching to others for having a few drinks!
Thats my main fear over the whole thing.Originally posted by pete

look, if they are all professional enough they'll just get on with it. Jees, there's been enough stupidity surrounding this whole affair already

If they were professional, they wouldn´t have been slagging each other off in the press in the first place.Originally posted by Magoo

well the only way to deal with that is zero tolerance. if they wanna bhave like that off the pitch then p!ss off and dont be wasting the supporters attention on that sort of muck

exactly the reason why keane should never play for ireland again!Originally posted by Magoo

not while he's behaving in a manner undermining all sorts of people's position (including his own).Originally posted by Éanna

But there's no reason for banning him for life if u ask me.

If he apologised then maybe. But if he just swans back into the team it´s asking for more problems in the future.Originally posted by Magoo

i know, but i get the distinct feeling that for once maybe it might be better to brush this mess under the carpet. Don't tempt fate by mentioning the unmentionable.Originally posted by Éanna

yeah that looks very dodgy alright but its so hard to know what the best solution would be...

i see your point, but i just think that would be setting a dangerous precedent.Originally posted by Magoo

If RK wants to come back i think he more than likely will.
The squad is only together for a few days around internationals so keane should able to survive in his room (remember he doesn't share rooms with any club or international player) for a few days.
IMO no matter what changes in the coming years i think RK may have difficulties surviving a tournament in the company of a whole squad of players & officials.
Seems RK has only survived at club level this long cos his manager gives him special leeway & club sides don't often compete in tournaments.
Thats the key to it. Ferguson gives him so much leeway he believes he can do whatever he wants, which IMO was a huge cause of the whole Saipan hassle.Originally posted by pete

I would tend to agree. IMO both sides should sit down together and air their grieveances, feelings etc. Otherwise we'll end up sitting on a time bomb that may well be set to go off at Portugal 2004, assuming we even make it.Originally posted by Éanna

Murphy Out Now!!!
This attitude is to be commended, it's one I share. But, since then alot of dark, murky water has passed under the bridge, things have been said etc etc. The air will have to be cleared BIG time before the rest of the players will be comfortable playing alongside him again.Originally posted by scottyshedender
