Doesn't everyone?
I love huskies. As a kid living in Edmonton we knew some Inuit who used to have huskies and bring them round to play with me. They are my fav type of dog so am dead jealous!
You lived in Edmonton? I spent twenty minutes in Edmonton sitting on a plane that had landed to pick up people. We were en route from Calgary to Whitehorse. Obviously I saw nothing of Edmonton.

Yeah from I was a babby til I was 4. Went back when was 15 and didnt want to leave. Its a great city. My Dads band used to play in Calgary a lot when I was a kid. Was there plenty of times but remember nothing about it.
I only spent an afternoon in Calgary. Thought it was a bit sterile. Like something out of Brave New World or a giant version of the IFSC. We were just killing time before our flight - were just after spending 5 days in Banff (heaven!).

When are you thinking of going. We were there in September which was perfect as it was the winding down of the season. I hear its kind of packed during the sumer months. Beautiful place. Just look at Brokeback Mountain to get an idea of the scenery (it was filmed nearby though I didn't see any gay cowboys - that I know of!)
You won't be stuck for stuff to do there thats for sure. We went on a mountain horseride which was a bit hairy at times with some of the graients but really worthwhile. Theres the Banff Gondola (cablecar). We hiked the 2.5 km up the mountain which took a while as its fairly steep and took the cable car back down. You can do whitewater rafting - we didn't get around to that. We also did an excursion out to the Columbia icefield glaciers which was spectacular.

Banff is one of those places you just have to see. Heaven on earth.
The sports team from my area is superior to the sports team from your area.
Yeah agree it is stunning. I met my first real life deer in Bannf. It was just strolling down the street. We got outta the RV and petted it. Beautiful. My dad ran the Glacier run that year. I went white water raffting and nearly drowned. If u are in that area u would also be mad not to go down into the Ocanogan (sp) valley. Its the fruit growing area and it was (in 89) one of the most beautiful untouched areas of Canada with little towns and villages where u feel time has stopped so its fitting that there is a Flintstones Theme Park! I love Canada so much, it has the beauty, the fun of the US but without americans.....heaven on earth! I have struggled for many years with the decision as to whether I will live in France or Canada when the kids leave home (only 9 yrs from now!!!) but France is winning for the weather and nearness to get home to my parents.
I'd love to live in Canada. Vancouver is the best city I've ever been in. Fantastic place. We plan to go back sometime in a few years and I will definitely make it to the Okanagan. They have really nice wine there. I didn't have time last year as we went up to Dawson City in the Yukon. Also well worth a visit. Even spent half an hour iin Old Crow which is up in the arctic circle and has no road access and a wooden shed for an airport terminal building. When the plane lands the whole community comes out to see if theres anyone interesting on it.

yeah Vancover is one cool place...but am not a city girl. Used to love them but now unspoilt quiet is my fav place to be. Vancover Island would be the best of both worlds, quiet countryside and a bridge that brings u to the city. Have said it b4 but the quaintest place have ever been is Whippletree Junction on Vancover Island....Population was 14 when I was there. Gorgeous!
Quaintest place I ever was was Chilmark, Marthas Vineyard, MA. Similar population. Fictitious childhood home of the character Fox Mulder. (Not why I was there by the way - I was just enduldging in some random hitchhiking on a day where I only had enough money for a packet of smokes and a sandwich.) Stone walls like you'd see in Kerry but dustier.

Exactly Sligoman! Loved living in Dublin but when had my kids I wanted a quieter more serene environment to counterbalance the chaos that they caused!
Cant think of a better place to bring them up tbh. Everyone knows me and hence knows them so they are as safe as possible.
