He's not a winger, he was only ever an average player when he was on the wing for us, in fact he should'nt have started after some of his performances in the 2006 season, then he was mved up front, was very close to a goal a game ratio and got his move to the Premiership.

Havent seen a whole lot of him but thats mainly cos he hasnt played much. He started against West Ham a while back and while he didnt look out of his depth, he didnt do a whole lot either. Alot of effort but not a huge amount of skill. Alot of Irish players are drawn to Sunderland but its not necessary the right move for them, i think O'Donovan is one of them. He would have had a greater chance of starting up front for Fulham

Ditto Stokes, should have gone to Charlton when they were in the Prem.

He has fantastic pace but needs to build up a bit. Remember him making a fool of Gael Clichy during an u-21 match a while back

    Decent winger, quality striker.
    Oh no not them again

forget about it - trappatoni wont touch him and if he cant get even get in the sunderland first team as a regular then he has zero chance of impressing trappatoni and should not be near the ireland squad

realistically he needs to move clubs - cos the only few times keane plays him are on the wing

if he moves however - it will prob be to a championship club

with regards to moving, a loan move to a championship club would have been perfect for him.

O'Donovan did better than Daryl Murphy in the eL and he eventually made it into the Ireland squad.

Daryl Murphy made it into the Sunderland starting XI too, O'Donovan hasn't managed that yet.

Not straight away though. I think O'Donovan will go on to be a better player than him, although it will be more difficult for him to make an impact in the Premiership.

Fair enough, my point was that Murphy got into the Ireland team after he had established himself in the Sunderland first team, O'Donovan can't expect to join him in the Ireland team until he does the same

Give the lad time, its a big step-up from EL to premeirship. Doyle did his time in the championship before progressing, and he has showed what a superb buy he was.

roy has 3 starts and 9 sub runs this season so far, no goals.
presume he is getting reserve outings, but no data on those, but who'd care really eh??

He has a few goals for the reserves and in friendlies, I think he gets a go up front in those games.

He's doing well with the reserves. He did well against Birmingham & Liverpool. Got a bad injury against Wigan. I'll rate him higher than Stokes!
