I'm quite willing to wait until next season to laugh in your face when you have no choice to take your head out of the sand.

Actaully why don't you even give us a rough idea of the future plans of Shels. Most clubs plans are out there, Pats, Bohs, Rovers etc and what they plan to do and how they plan to do it. What exactly are Shels plans except for spending money on a team from the sale of your ground?
Lissenhall proved to be too expensive in the end. I liked the idea and think it would have worked out but the price of the land went sky high after it was rezoned and Shels didnt have enough cash to buy the land and build the stadium.

Talks are still ongoing with sharing Morton Stadium with the IAA. What more info do you want ?

It's clear we don't have enough money to sell Tolka buy land in a good area and build a nice stadium. I don't think anyone has said we did ???

I've said this 100's of times before but I don't agree with the spending of money from the sale of Tolka on players wages. Never have I said I did.

What is it that has you all thinking about Shels the whole time ????

Theres very little info from any EL clubs on how they conduct their business but it seems when shels say nothing it's because they are hiding something or up to something... Just relax and let things run their course....

    Laugh in my face ?
    What are you on about.....

I don't need to come to foot.ie to hear whats going on at Shels. It's fairly clear that the majority of the Shels rumours on here prove to be false!

It's got nothing to do with having my head in the sand. It's got to do with the truth and what fans of other clubs would like to be the truth. As usual when people hear a story about shels they like to add a few minor details and make some crazy story out of it!!

What get posted here and what actually goes on are two very different things.

Also I have NOT said there are no problems at Shels! I'm well aware of the problems and have posted my opinions on them many times, both here and on Shelsweb. Just because I post here asking you all to calm down does not mean there are no problems.

Higgins, I'd say there's no smoke without fire. Evidently Shels players went unpaid at times this season and they came close to walking out. Just because the exact details of the more imaginative rumours didn't transpire it does not mean there's some truth to the rumours floating about. Something appears to be going on right now and if it's the release of all players out of contract then that is problematic for your club. I can understand you saying that it's positive that the club are coming to terms with their inability to pay the players' wages but the rumoured departures of players like Ollie Cahill, Ndo and O'Neill is still alarming.

Poor Student, I'm well aware of there being no smoke without fire. I've never said everything was great at Shels. I'm just trying to calm you lot down. We don't even have word of who the out of contract players are and yet your all going on about Shels having no goalkeepers.

As was pointed out, we released 8 players last season and nobody found it strange. I'm actually wondering why its taking so long to release players this season!

If they were released yesterday and are free to go do you not think we would have heard from them or the players? This guessing game that goes on is silly. When it happens it happens.

Why this is a big deal is beyond me. Shels wouldnt be the first club to release players because they couldnt afford them.

I think it's funny that Shels are the club who are meant to be in debt and all players will be leaving at the end of the season and yet nothing has happened and Cork are going unnoticed as they let player after player go and their Chairman has stepped down.

Indeed. I yearn for the day when I can support a club with no fans, no future and all being seen over by a convicted criminal who drags my club through the dirt on a regular basis.

    From this morning's Irish Times:

Revenue again seeks to wind up Shelbourne FC

    Αine Coffey

The Revenue has petitioned to wind up Shelbourne FC for the third time this year over outstanding tax liabilities.

Revenue filed the winding-up petition last Wednesday and the case is scheduled to be heard in the High Court next month.

Earlier Revenue petitions were filed in March and in August this year to shut down the League of Ireland's most successful football club and recently-crowned league champions. On both those occasions, Shelbourne came to an arrangement to pay the monies due before the scheduled court hearings.

The previous Revenue petitions were against Accolade, a holding company behind Shelbourne, but the latest is against another corporate entity, Shelbourne FC, through which the club pays wages.

Ollie Byrne, chief executive and owner of Shelbourne, said that the outstanding tax would be paid in the next few days. "Don't worry about that, it will be sorted," he said.

"I will have paid nearly €1 million in taxes in a year. I will be the most up-to-date person in the history of football."

Mr Byrne said the Revenue is seeking payment of about €100,000 in "current taxes", as distinct from tax arrears.

He said that Shelbourne paid €104,000 to the Revenue last November/December in back-tax, another €300,000 earlier this year and €120,000 in October this year.

The March winding-up petition was dropped after Revenue and Shelbourne agreed a schedule of payments, but the Revenue returned to the High Court in August after Shelbourne defaulted.

"They wanted us to do it their way, which was not practical," Mr Byrne said. "You agree to get them off your back."

Nothing on the Shels forum. Which obviously maens it's not true.

There is a nice thread saying that all other eL fans' attitudes towards Shels derive from envy though. Naturally, I'm deeply envious that UCD haven't had two winding up orders in the past nine months.

Although, you do have to acknowledge that higgins has a point when he notes that all previous portents of doom have for now proven wide of the mark.

Edit- cheers hoop. "They wanted to do it their way, which was not practical"?!?!?! This man has no place within Irish football - or indeed any business - and the sooner he's gotten rid of, the better. Phenomenal attitude.

There's surely only so long this can last?!

You have to feel sorry for the likes of Higgins. It's all smoke and mirrors at Shelbourne. Who knows what the hell is going on? This obviously can't be a good thing for them.

Be interesting to see the Revenue's reaction to the second sentence in that quote. Ollie's just admitted in a national paper that he knowingly lied to them twice in the space of a few months. I can't imagine how that's going to encourage them to adopt a more lenient attitude or believe a word he says the next time they're in court.

I posted a few months back that I believed Shels were in breach of licensing due to their financial problems and that they deserved a points deduction, a la Rovers.

I'm personally digusted that the ostriches in Tolka can have the brass neck to accuse Derry of trying to win the League by "cheating" (Hargan and Dublin City) whilst they are doing exactly the same.

Philly asked what relevance Ollie's criminality currently hold, well your answer is in the quite in the IT article "They wanted us to do it their way, which was not practical," Mr Byrne said. "You agree to get them off your back." Zero respect for the law.

There'll be nobody happier than me when they hit the wall. I just hope Ollie doesn't find the monied fool he's looking for, God knows there are enough knocking around Ireland at the minute.

    Do you ********.

They are happy to cheer Ollie in the good times, they've made their bed so they can sleep in it.

Rovers are a prime example, their club was run by undesirables and they took it over and ran it themselves.
