presumeably when (if!) the new landsdowne is opened and has a higher capacity than before then some (all?) of those on the waiting list could become full time BB list members.

Hopefully that will be the case. What we do know is that whatever way the FAI decide to allocate, it will be for the benefit of their pockets and not the fans. Can't see too much of a problem though. There aren't too many on the waiting list.

There are over 5000 on the waiting list, all with one or more on their application, granted some are duplicate but the majority are not.

I'd say anyone under 2000 may be sorted, anyone above may not.

Surely the increase in seats will cover 5000 on the waiting list? I would have thought that there would even be some left over for sale to the general public as well.

Out of interest, does anyone know how many were on the block booking list for LR?

Its hard to know how the fai will work things when we go back to new LR and god knows when exactly that will be, but i imagine a bit like whats happening now with croker you will have alot more people than normal interested in tickets because of the new stadium alone.

Most people on the block booking get at least 2 tickets. They also had to increase the amount of corporate seats for the new stadium.

Thats my reasoning behind it too. Thats why I'm thinking those with a waiting list number below 2000 might be the only lucky ones.
