Dundalk axe striker Hynes
First Division promotion hopefuls Dundalk have sacked striker Peter Hynes, citing “a breach of club discipline”. The former Aston Villa trainee joined the Lilywhites from Dublin City two years ago, and settled into the team this season as manager John Gill’s preferred strike partner for prolific top scorer Philip Hughes.
But the 22-year-old will be on the look-out for a new club during the winter months after being axed by the County Louth club. A statement from Dundalk read: “Dundalk Football Club have parted company with Peter Hynes , with immediate effect, following a breach of club discipline.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
