I agree with you up to a point Donie. The Supporters Club have been trying to combat this kind of crap for the last few years, and to be honest, when i was actively involved, we got no back-up from the club. I can´t and won´t comment on the situation now as I have been away too much recently to have a good grasp of whats going on behind the scenes, but as far as I can see, Lennox is much more "hands-on" than his predecessors.

BUT! That code of conduct has been up for months now, and all the while I´ve heard racist/unacceptable filth being shouted at games as stewards and/or gardai look on and do nothing. They have to actively stop this. It´s all well and good kicking a young fellow out for lighting a flare, or taking an air-horn off a ten-year old, anyone can do that, but someone has to stand up to the morons who come out with some comments that are frankly sickening. I´ve argued it out with people before for racist comments and all you get is "What ya gonna do about it?" or "Ya gonna stop me?" Well if I knew there was a steward/garda around who back me up on it/actually do something, then I would. But, much as i find racist abuse unpalatable, I won´t risk getting a slap only to see the offender carry on going to games with a smug "told ya so" grin on their face.

But only if they're a group of 5 away fans causing no one any trouble.

    What? Hold a grudge? Me?

You 5 should be banned anyway just for being so annoying, and esp for that U-C-D chant (which I add you always muck up by someone getting the letter's in the wrong order....)....

    Hyland OUT
    McCarthy OUT
    Gunther OUT
    UCD OUT

If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

Yeah, that chant even pi$$es me off. We haven't done that in a while. Seeing as it annoys you more, we might give it a special outing when you lot are up in a few weeks.

Can't say I remember anyone getting the letters wrong except some of the intelligent kids you get in Tolka or Drogheda.

    UCD OUT
The team are doing a good enough job of that so far.

I agree 100%, Eanna. The crucial thing now is, the club needs the back-up of the Gardai. I understand there is a new Garda involved in co-ordinating the Boys in Blue on match days. I'm told he's prepared to act. But it's really a case of club + Stewards + Gardai sorting the situation out [B]together[B]...

I wouldn't recommend any individual supporter to take on the messers.

right. thats good news cos the closest thing we saw to action from them up to now was the odd scrath of their itchy arses.

Btw, it was never an individual thing. It was a case of 2/3/4 people turning round to the moron(s) in question and saying "shut up" or some such.

    Nice one!

And I've seen that "main steward guy" (You know the guy with the walky talky and has a greeny long coat) standing inside in a chipvan outside Turners Cross during a game!

What the **** is he getting paid 50 euro for?
