Ok, someone important last night made the frightening statement that our young players could move to Britain for free. I've been trawling the internet and as far as I'm concerned the rule is that players U-23 cannot move without compensation for the club who trained them. FIFA have a specific formula to calculate this unless the clubs involved can agree a deal. This document was written in March 2006 so unless something has changed since then:

There was a strike by the Danish footballers union in 2003 or 2004 that agrued that the U-23 rule was against the Bosman ruling and went against the European court decision etc. etc. but I can't find out how it was ever resolved.

I cannot see any evidence to suggest this is still not the case and to the best of my knowledge we're entitled to a fee for Dicker no matter where he goes.
As far as I know not only are we entitled to a fee for an Under 23 player but their schoolboy club is also entitled to a cut of any transfer fee, for helping develop the player to the standard required.
