Is there much publicity going on around Sligo for this game? League leaders, second-last home game of the season, first game of the post-Connor era ...
There's so many ways this can be marketed. Someone - Gorman, Toolan, fans etc - should be on the radio, in the papers, on the streets of Sligo.
We complain - rightly - about some of the poor crowds, but what is being done to encourage more people to come out?
Of course Rovers playing in the Premier, and playing passing football that's good to watch, should get bums on seats - but we all know that nowadays it takes more than that.
I'm not saying cheerleaders and fireworks every week, but the club needs to be more actively and imaginatively marketed. Little spots at half-time, giveaways (although I'm not a Premiership fan, the Man United raffle was a good idea) and so on. And could the club not approach some of the electrical companies to sponsor a better PA system? And an IMRO licence so that we don't have to have the same two or three bits of crap pre-match music every week?
