Just though he might be a possibility.

and I'd hope the feeling is mutual. Dykes will never manage Sligo Rovers, with any luck!

Former Ireland internatinal Terry Phelan has denied he is on verge of becoming Sligo Rovers new manager.

The ex-Manchester City man has been coaching New Zealand side Otaga United and had been linked with the job at the Showgrounds but hs says timing doesn't suit.

    Under the influence

Heard this morning Tierney turned down the job because of his long term contract with the FAI.

    Foot.ie!

Why would the job be offered to a goalkeeping coach with no experience of working with professional players?

Just heard he is reconsidering, and will let them know perhaps tomorrow.

I think he is worth taking a chance on.........for the 3 games I saw this season, he has them performing well with plenty of workrate......

At this stage Tierney gets my vote, he has done a good job up till now, is committed, has Rovers best interests in mind, knows the club, wont be easily manipulated by the MC, will stand up to MC (hopefully). He's prob less of a risk than getting in another Rob McDonald.

The chances of their been another Rob McDonald who's a football manager is very slim I'd say.

Still no sign of a manager and not likely to being one appointed before the weekend. Heard there was interviews during the week for the job and the money the applicants were looking for was way out of Rovers league. Tierney will be back to his FAI job shortly so it will be mainly Cawley on his own then.

    Thumbs up leo and dessie

i think leo and dessie are the best candidates for the job at the moment. why bring in another manager who is goin to disrupt the flow and morale that the lads have in the team.
