Regardless of the relative merits of the training facilities of institutions whose names are formed from the letters D, U and C, that was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Many thanks Tony.

And to clarify again, we think you head like a midfielder, not a defender, and not that you can't head.

Well actually it's that he heads like an attacker not a defender that's the problem.

    Yeah, that.

Basically, Tony, what we're saying is, head up. Even if it's dizzy from shaking it.

Ours are. We use the elite training facility in DCU. They only let the countries elite athletes use it, Derval O'Rourke, Dubs football team and Leinster rugby.
They don't have to share it with anyone else.

The outdoor facilities in DCU are rubbish. As for the indoor well the gym is new enough (approximately 18 months) but no better than Belfield and the elite athletes have priority access but still have to share to some degree.

Students use the same gym that the Bohs team use. A number of people have told me that and they have been there at the same time as them and were talking to the players in the gym. I don't see the point of debating this further so we'll have to agree to disagree.

That's the exercise bikes. They're located in a different area, the rest of the facilities are in a seperate room for the elite athletes.
    Happy now?

Can you remind us how these are better than the ones in UCD again? Are the weights heavier? The threadmills faster?

I'll get back to you on the gym point when I meet some of the guys I know who work there tonight but I'm fairly sure it's prioritised and not exclusive. Outdoor facilities still reek.

I've been in there myself, I think I should know!
