...When I talked recently with a league official about the reasoning behind having five consecutive away trips, I was told it was to try and get balance.
Now, I think I'm kind of half-intelligent some of the time and half-stupid most of the time (irony I hope!

), but when we have covered a total of 1980 km approximately during such a short period, where is the balance in that?
We didn't moan about it, we got on with it and there is great credit due to our players. A lot of people just look upon the so-called full-time clubs and they don't appreciate the kind of sacrafice our players make.
There is a perception out there that 'it is only UCD, they won't complain'. And we don't. But maybe we are contributing to our fate because we don't stand up. Can you imagine if if the same situation was to happen to some of the other clubs? They would be beating down the door of the FAI offices.
.....If we don't finish higher than we finished last year, I will be disappointed. We have proved that we have a team with potential that is constantly improving.
We have beaten the majority of the top sides this season, so if we could just bring that form with us
for when we play the sides in and around us, then we could have achieved my target of fourth place and possibly even got into the Setanta Cup.
Now, the only real chance we have of that is if we win the FAI Cup, but I feel it is a realistic one.
