    Sunshiners yesterday?

Will they come back to the rest of the games this season or will the novilty wear off as soon as they heard the final whistle?
Just think if we could get 4000 at least at the rest of our home games...it would be worth 3 points at least to the team...provided some of them sing.

An increase of only 1000 on the gate next season would inable us to spend more on players and wages and maybe break into the top 4.

If you were to break down the crowds for the season
start of the season averaging 2000 or more for the first three or four games.
The middle of the season, crowds starting to drop, especially July-August period. Switching to Friday night football also didnt help.
Attendances start to pick up after going back to Saturday nights around the end of Aug/Sep and they have been steady enough since but nothing special.

Seems like people dont have as much time during the summer months as they do at other times. Bring back winter football!

Would for me. Frosty nights, few half ones in O'Neils before hand to warm the blood, dark skys, no sun to blind us in the blue stand, jumping up and down and clapping at anything to keep warm. Ah, I remember the days......

I'd prefer to be watching a better team playing a better standard of football in a stronger league...i.e. summer football.

The only differences between Summer and winter months wise is December January February out and June July in so its not that vast a change.

Summer football also helps with playing in Europe.. something you will be aspiring to, if not this year then next. Playing European football in the middle of the season means you play far better than coming off your summer holiday searly, playing one or two friendlies and then getting humped by a better team.

Look at Glentoran against Shelbourne. Look at Derry against Gretna. Glentoran even had some players unavailable to play as they were still on holiday.

Winter football resluts in crap pitches, more postponed games and no trips to Paris

Mate of mine (39) and his dad (74) are both season ticket holders (and seat owners in the new stand), couldnt get any seats in the stand as they have done for the last 15 years.

Even though they were there at 2.30pm and nobody was supposed to be keeping/holding seats they were told there were no seats left!!!

Great way to replace loyal fans in seats by sunshiners related to MC friends and families.

They ended up having to go to the shed, fine for the 39year old, not so good standing up for 2 1/2 hours for the older gent.

And they wonder why people/previous regulars have stopped following the club.

Arrived in Showgrounds at 2.30 and was told on the way into the stand, by a committe member, that it was full. Had a dehho and found that there was room for the entire Finn Harps Supporters Club !!. When the game kicked off, I counted 11 empty seats around the section I was in.
BTW, when we went in there were kids lying across seats, keeping them for Mammy and Daddy who were in Harloes.
