went ahead last nite
What was the decision? Does anybody know who was on the Clonmel delegation? Hope they sent people who could provide a strong case
it should be settled with a replay,i know rules are rules but no one would want to advance to the next round on a technicality, although it is pike we're on about
i dont no the ruling on Ken Kiely, but a walk-over constitutes a game played which definately makes Coady legal.
EVERYTHING is black and white
Thats just textbook................
would u rather go thru by beating a team and proving ur better,or by objection,I just think it should be sorted on the pitch....and if pike had won, which they should of,would anyone have complained
That's not the point, if you break the rules you suffer the consequences. What would be the point of having rules in the first place if every time someone broke them we'd say "ah sure replay the game, they broke the rules but who wants to progress after the they were kicked out because of cheating"
Honestly you have no grounds for an argument whatsoever.
how can it be a technicality..Pike won the appeal on BOTH counts..CTFC fielded 2 illegal players...the fact it is Pike is the basis for your argument...the rules were broken..I have to have sympathy for the CTFC players..if anyone is to blame it is not Pike its the idiot that allowed both players to play.
You are spot on- it wasnt a technicality. The munster council have decided that Town broke the rules. Pike were well within their rights to lodge a protest, in much the same way as Town have the right of appeal and beyond.
We try not to crucify people for genuine mistakes at this club.
from Clonmel Town Website......
Town Thrown Out Of Munster - 5th Apr
Pike Rovers of Limerick have won their appeal that Clonmel Town played an illegal player in their recent Munster Junior Cup Quarter Final two weeks ago. As a club we feel very disappointed with the judgement of the Munster Football Association and we feel that we owe to the management and players to take this issue as far as we can. We acknowledge a mistake was made but it was an honest one and the brutality of the decision is not a reflection of this. Also, the club's good name and integrity has now been brought into question and we must now act accordingly to clear our name. It seems comical that one player can be eligible for the FAI Junior Cup, Oscar Traynor Trophy, his own Domestic league and cups but not the Munster Junior Cup. What a joke.
Seems that there will be an appeal
same to be said for shane geurin and dave ryan of ballynanty. rules are rules at the end of the day. how many other games on the way to the quarter final did ken kiely play?
Mama Mia!!
”That should be NO problem for the defence – OH NOOOO!!”
