Thumbs up A bit of professionalism

    From Citynet....

FAI propose new regulations for eL clubs
The FAI has met with representatives of the eircom League clubs to present plans for the proposed FAI National Club Licensing System.
Amongst the items that clubs will have to comply with before being issued with a licence are: sufficient safety procedures, adequete spectator facilities, a youth development programme with qualified coaches, transparent financial structures and no overdue debts on transfers or players' wages.
Clubs must meet the requirements, as adapted from a UEFA template, before the start of the 2004 season

Great in theory, But, can any of you honestly see dumps like the Carlisle Ground, Richmond Park being brought up to an acceptable level.

Then look a bit further, and can anyone actually see places like Jackman Park, Century Homes Park, St Colmans Park be brought any where near a good level.

I know its needed, but i honestly cannot see the majority of clubs in this country having the guile and Gumption, not to mention the funds to revamp their "stadia".

I read in the newspaper today that this licensing system has been on the cards for a few years now. The FAi have been doing a pilot scheme with Cobh Ramblers and Drogheda United this season and apparently have made great progress!

on the financial end of things many Italian and English clubs would fail to get a licence because of their financial health.
Fiorentina went belly up this at the start of the season!

If you go to tyhe FAI site & download the pdf doc you'll see most of the requirements are easiely achieveable & don't require much money at all.

The Financial info & structures may be the biggest change required of clubs.

yeah, but I wouldn´t put it past the FAI to just publish it and then forget about it, it is only the national league after all, not a drinking tour in asia

Remember those rules on stadium requirements that came out a few years back- how you had to have X no. of seats etc to be in the premier? never implemented! Typical FAI- all talk no action

But at least all clubs will have to show thier books to FAI-UEFA so the numbers will have to be right no more under the table crap from the f#cker who control the clubs, fnas will be able to see what is going on, having the FAI on your back is a joke having the fans armed wiith information on your back could be quiet scary because remeber they know where you live.............

    Question

Since this is ultimately being pushed from Uefa the FAi will have to help clubs for once come up to standard - they surely won't be able to get away with leaving it all up to the clubs.

Sure some clubs might ands will struggle under these new rules. But what have City, Bohs, $hels etc got to worry about? F***all that's what! Any step towards professionalism, even one as seemingly awkward/unworkable as this is to be welcomed.

Bohs are in the labour courts with Alec Nesovich Re his wages, Shels were in court last year regarding their 'night club' & Pats cant fill in forms.
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.

exactly, not to mention Ollie Byrne´s little brushes with the law for assaulting oppostition fans. Maybe we don´t have much to worry about, but I wouldn´t be 100% positive.

Oh ya, Rovers cant build propperly while Longford got their fans to finish off their job. Derry (not to mention Harps) just managed to survive last year while Bray look like they need some more cash.

It looks like there are only 2 decent clubs in the premier div, Cork & UCD
