    Player of the Season

Schumi add a poll please. And leave out Shorthall, add Quigley.

For me this season Kenna, Ally Mc, Dicker and Sammon have stood head and shoulders above anyone else in the team. It's close between Sammon or Kenna, but my vote goes marginally to Sammon.

Tony Mac's importance is sometimes best illustrated by how poor UCD perform when he is missing through injury.

Hard to choose between Kenna and Ally Mac. Both have been excellent in defence this season.

Conor Kenna's versatility, may lose him some votes. Even though I think it is a strength.

Poll added, may as well have both Shortall and Quigley!

Conor Kenna by a distance, I think.

    But I voted Tony Mac.

After last night's error ridden performance by Allie Mac I voted for Kenna

It's player of the season, not man of the match. Alan McNally has been a rock this season.

Yes and not performing against the Champions Elect which too many of the team have done repeatedly this season swung it for me. Conor Kenna has not bottled it in big games this season.

    One error IIRC.

None of our players are bottlers. Are league games are of relatively equal importance whether it be Shels or Bray there's 3 points on the table. While Shels are arguably the best team in the country they're hardly going to have players quaking in their boots. McNally and Kenna have both combined to form one of the top central defensive partnerships in the country and both of them should be commended. We'd be doing very well to retain that partnership for next season.

Ah so what you are saying is the Tolka Park result (0-6) , was because UCD battled? It didn't look like it on the highlights. And for the record I missed the game because I was out of the country.

We lost because we were outclassed by the best team in the country. Is that concept difficult for you to understand?

No not at all , we were abjectly sh1te into the bargain.
And we do not lose 6-0 often to Shelbourne which more or less proves my point. Defensively we were absolutely abysmal.
Darren Quigley has kept 12 clean sheets for chrissakes! So losing 6-0 is not normal.
St. Joseph's Boys Sallynoggin Under 14's would have beaten us the way we defended that night!

A bad performance doesn't mean they didn't try.

If you're being ****ed on you should at least send one of the opponents off the pitch early. That to me means not trying.

The only time we have played against anyone and lost 6-0 where we actually played reasonably well was in 1991 in a pre-season friendly against Banik Ostrava in Belfield Park. The Czech side outclassed us, but at least they knew they had been in a game. We created a couple of chances and probably should have got one goal on that occasion.
That year we were a First Division side and won the Shield that season and came 4th.

I don't accept that sort of performance from UCD in the same way that the Republic of Ireland's performance against Cyprus was unacceptable.
